Hang 10 Hawaiian Ice & Cream

So I came in this morning and got the walking taco and that was really good I think that’s the best thing they added and there hang 10 hi five is cool cause they picked a couple flavors to make a rainbow and they were so kind and funny to me they have made it more sweet cause they put care and everybody was working hard on a busy day

My wife had left a review but I wanted to come and leave one as well. I have known the inside and outs of this building far before there was ever a hang 10 this building used to be smileys. Smiley was a older gentleman who worked on bikes and had a bike shop here for a long time I grew up hanging out with smiley the building that hang10 is now in so getting to see both sides bulding before and after I was sad to see my great friend smiley leave the property but extremely glad to have a wonderful place like hang 10 come in and I can say that since the first year that they opened up, I have been going to hang10 and I have always loved the quality of the Hawaiian burger it’s one of my favorite burgers in town and I have always loved the shaved ice so not to sure where all the bad reviews are coming from recently regarding service but I love hang 10 and am very glad to be able to tell my story about what the building used to be thank you all have a amazing day!

My husband and I have been coming here for years and we have always loved it. When it reopened this summer we had no idea new management took over! The Hawaiian burger is AMAZING and the homemade fries are my favorite. The only thing we noticed was new workers and they have all been very nice. I’m not sure where all the complaints are coming from about new management but we have no complaints and will continue to come during the summer!

Apparently this place has really gone down hill. My friend, my son, and I went today to try it for the first time, and we were less than impressed.

We ordered 2 burgers, a kids hot dog, and happy hour fries. I noticed that several of the tables were dirty right off the bat. Being that we were the only ones there, you'd think there would be time to wipe them down.

A guy brought out our burgers, and the first thing I noticed was that there were no condiments on it. The hot dog also had nothing on it.

Whatever buns they use, first off, were cold and secondly, they were gross. Our burgers were raw so we had them remade.

The second ones were cooked, but flavorless. The fries had potential but they were very greasy and barely warm.

The hot dog itself was fine, but some mustard or something would have been cool. We used the last 2 ketchup packs to try to help our sad burgers.

We went for a walk and came back for dole whip, thinking that couldn't be messed up. Well, they were out. I ordered their special flavor shaved ice, and like some others said, the girl had no idea what that was.

It was ok. My friends barely had any flavoring on it and it was the consistency of a snow cone and not shaved ice, but she didn't want to return another item.

I don't see any responses from the new owners regarding all these negative comments, but it seems something needs to be done because we will not be back if it stays like this.

Honestly. Not the best. I went in during the mid day lull, and the three girls working didn’t seem all to interested in being there. They were nice, but one was new and had no clue what was going on, and the other two just kept talking amongst themselves.

I tried to order their “signature flavor” for the shaved ice the “hang 10 high five” and none of the three of them even knew what it was. I was told it was specific to dole whip only, which. No. Your menu doesn’t say that. I guess after reading about new ownership, these folks just have no clue what’s going on.

The hot dog (their signature dog) was fine, warm not hot. For as long as it took to make, I kind of expected it to be hotter. The bottom of the bun was also tragically soggy.

The fries were decent. Think five guys fries but with better seasoning.

If this really is under new ownership, they need to get their stuff together, or they won’t be around long.

Absolutely rubbish compared to how this business was previously operated last summer. Disappointed in the customer service from the staff, generally seemed upset I was there, and were unaware of their food stock as they couldn’t complete my order as intended. Got sick with food poisoning from the burgers. Just change the menu and the name to the Green Goat 2.0 if it’s going to be this bad all summer. Good thing you can’t really mess up ice cream.

Quality of ingredients is lacking with new ownership. The star city dog used to be our favorite, but they’ve swapped all the ingredients for inferior ones. The dogs used to be high quality and unique, but they are more reminiscent of the Roanoke Weiner Stand now. The fries are still decent quality and seasoned well, but I feel like we’ve lost a gem.
Otherwise, the staff was friendly and the place was clean. Just bummed about the dogs!

I’m so upset to be writing this review but our experience on Saturday night(05/17) was horrible. It seems like the food quality has gone down and the staff wasn’t friendly like years previously. My family loves this place and hopes to have a better experience next time.

Was not able to experience due to closing for the season only open in spring and summer although on Google it says open till 9:00 on Friday still they're closed

Great place for a desert. Ice cream and shaved ice in loads of flavors. Coming back here next week and try the hot dogs.

Great burgers and hotdogs. Ice cream and shaved ice are terrific. My whole family tries to make it once a week to Hang 10. Dole Whip changes regularly.
