This is the best restaurant in Roanoke! Knew I had to go there for my birthday, and all was exceptional.
What a special dinner for my birthday! The food was delicious and our server was knowledgeable, efficient and so pleasant! Always the place to go if you want enjoy all things about the meal.
Wonderful restaurant. Service was very friendly and very helpful with allergies. The food was excellent...great flavors and textures. Thank you, chef!
Hubby and I had dinner at the bar. Menu is creative, fried green tomato BLT sliders and savory mushroom pot pie. Everything was super fresh with attention to delivering highest quality. Mixologist Taylor is on top of his game and was a pleasure to hang with at the bar. His pisco sour was *chef's kiss*. Consistently one of our favorite spots!
The entire experience was wonderful. The cocktails were delicious and a great price point. The bourbon selection was large and varied as well as priced fairly. All of the food was perfectly cooked and had so much flavor. The staff was amazing and were always checking in. Lucky is a great restaurant and you will love the experience.
We love their food and beverage selection and craft cocktails. I'm a rum guy and Lucky's is my go to place when we are in Roanoke for solid rum drinks!
Delightful date night at Lucky. Great food and drinks with wonderful service by Melissa. This place is a true restaurant gem in the Star City.
This was first time at Lucky and we were very impressed! Our reservation was early so we could make a show, and the staff had everything running very smoothly. We enjoyed a romantic window table where our server, Jack, helped us choose dishes based on our appetite level. First up was the pimento cheese board with bread and pickles—very nice and a generous portion of delicious pimento cheese spread. It could have served four people. I had the fried okra starter and found it to be not only perfectly fried, but very creative with the succotash and drizzled toppings. My husband had the fried chicken which was also fried exactly right and I enjoyed the trout entree with Carolina Gold rice. Every single thing about our meal was great. A bit noisy in the bar seating area, but only because the bartenders were turning out expertly crafted cocktails. I highly recommend the “Evacuate your Sleep” drink, which was a playful tequila riff on espresso martini. Well done, Lucky! See you next time we are back in Roanoke!
Really interesting and delicious food choices on the menu. We made a dinner of every appetizer on the menu. It was great!
We had dinner with friends. They shared a beautifully cooked steak and we also had shrimp & grits and chicken. Service is fantastic and the cocktails were delicious. Always a great meal at Lucky!

Exceptional pop-up experience with Smoke In Chimneys Trout for our anniversary. Went in knowing little about it but left with bellies full of some of the best fish dishes we've ever had! Great event at a restaurant that has never yet let us down.
The food was excellent and the drinks were amazing. We have been to Lucky before but I think there has been some changes to the menu in a positive way. I had the fried chicken dish and it was one of the best things I have eaten in a long time. Lucky is going back on the list of favorite Roanoke restaurants!
Great farm-to-table, small plate option in cute downtown Roanoke. First visit to Roanoke. In town briefly for business and wanted a unique and local experience for a solo diner. (i.e. Something other than common menu items that appeared on so many menus that I see during travel in the US.) Went on a Thursday evening around 7:00. The bar was almost full, and the dining room had a few tables occupied. Good vibe and not too loud for the neighboring guests to enjoy themselves and have conversations. Host, server, and what I assumed was the MOD were all very welcoming. Good balance of not being bothered or forgotten about. Ordered the following: * Tomato and cucumber salad - Nice, lite first bite to start with. Every tomato half had its basil salt on it. Would have liked a tad less, but still very good. * Mushroom Salad - Another great start, small plate. The dressing was tasty and didn't overpower the mushrooms and greens. Would have like a little less of the seeds sprinkled on top. But again, still very good. * Octopus - Loved how the carrot puree worked with the bean succotash and appreciated the incorporation of black eyed peas. The chili crisps were a little salty, but added just the right amount of heat. I was expecting/hoping for a whole, charred tentacle or two, but it was served as thick slices that were cooked very well. Overall, a 4.5 for my first visit and what I was looking for.
Lucky is my favorite restaurant in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The only think I dislike about it is that I live 3 hours away.
From Mollie's welcoming smile greeting us as we arrived, to Mel's attentiveness during our meal, to Chris's craft drinks/cocktails, everything was excellent and my party and I will be back!
