What a disappointment. We order a small yellow cake with raspberry filling, and raspberry French buttercream for a birthday/ Easter dessert. The cake was very dry and dense and there was barely any filling. The frosting was nice with a perfect amount of sweetness just nl Not worth $40
I used to love this place. However. $9 for to go soup. That is barely even filled. Ridiculous. (I posted a photo so feel free to look at that). This place is a scam.

I had the asparagus and feta quiche and ratatouille soup with a cup of coffee. We had nice service, and the food was hot and tasty. The brewed coffee was good, although I like fresh cream instead of the little, sealed cups of creamer.
The atmosphere is fine - it feels a little like a coffee shop and a restaurant. It doesn't feel exactly comfy like a coffee shop or styled like a restaurant. I don't know what it would be - maybe even some music to give the place a "vibe"

Awesome breakfast and great service! The Eggs Benedict was fabulous. My husband really enjoyed the Reuben omelette. Great selection of specialty coffees. Most of the breakfast dishes had eggs in them and one of the people in our party doesn’t like eggs so the server offered to substitute them for hash browns , which was so nice. Highly recommend!!!!

We were disappointed with our visit to this new location. It feels like an attempt for an “elevated dinning experience” compared to the other locations in Salem and vinton. But instead it is the same quality food, a smaller portion size and 1.5x the price. The food was fine but not worth what they charge for it. (For example, their omelettes at other locations are $8 and made with 4 eggs. The same omelette at this location is $13 and made with 3 eggs). They boast a long list of speciality drinks but don’t have an actual set up with baristas that are capable of making them. So a 12 oz $6 latte is made from grocery store concentrate and steamed milk.
Similar to other reviews our experience is that when we pointed out the shortages with our meal and drinks they initially promised to compensate us. But after the waitress talked with the manager they decided to give us a free pastry instead which was a quarter of the cost they initially promised to compensate.
Lastly, the service was quite slow. We waited 20 minutes for two meals, then another 15 minutes after completing our meals to finally be brought our check. The “service” that you are paying so highly for at this location left a lot to be desired.

I found ODB a couple months ago. Since then, I've been almost every week for breakfast.
I consider myself a French toast connoisseur, and Laurdes, the cook at the Jefferson St location has the art DOWN. It's quite possibly the best I've had.
But also, the carnitas omelet, harvest hash, bread pudding platter, and everything else I've tried have also been delicious.
Cassie, the morning manager, is the sweetest on earth.
Overall, I'm so glad I found this place! Moved to the area last year and it's good to have a 'breakfast spot'.

Had been to this location once before after they opened here. Thought I would give it another try. Today at 10:45 only two other seated customers and all other tables had not been wiped off, floors filthy and and lamp shades need dusting. Obviously little to no paint or maintenance to this place. Sad.
The breakfast plate cranberry bread pudding was dry and cold and eggs barely warm and day old bacon I’m guessing.
This was a $ 50 breakfast for the two of us.
Very disappointing.
Always a delicious stop.

Our Daily Bread Bistro has a large selection of amazing food and hasn’t disappointed with a single dish I’ve tried. The coffee is phenomenal with a lot of options (Red Rooster, too!) and I’ve loved the lattes I have tried as well. Parking is quite limited but I was informed that we could park in the empty lot across the street.

Great place for breakfast. I saw a few bad reviews about this place and had to come on here and post. We’ve been here a few times now and every time has been great. The staff here are so kind and attentive and the girl who makes the coffee drinks knows what’s up! I’m glad they opened up this location. Highly recommend
