This is a family tradition! My husband, his Dad, and brother grew up in Roanoke and LOVE the hot dogs! Every hot dog gets compared to these and every hotdog fails in comparison!

My family went to the Square and had lunch here. Right off the bat, I saw this place had history. With the retro look and all the historical photos. A cool place to go back in time. However, the food was horrendous. Going into a hotdog restaurant, I expected high quality hotdogs, but that's not what I got. For 4 hotdogs, coleslaw, and some chicken nuggets it was $34.Which is fine, except Costco has better hotdogs than here and they are 1.50. Heck, I had better hotdogs at a gas station. The hotdogs were very low quality. Regular white hotdog buns, the cheapest kind you can get. I got the chilli dog and it looked and tastes like they use the cheapest canned chilli they can get.The cole slaw which was $3 a side, came in a small sauce cup (maybe 2TBS worth). It was dry, stale, and grey, it looked like it's been in the fridge for weeks.I understand it's a family owned business and may had to cut corners but man they cut too much corners. Would not recommend at all. I hope they turn around because they've been in Roanoke for a long time and have beautiful history and place in the city.

Place isn’t the same since the old man passed away. The hotdogs don’t taste the same and the fries are absolutely horrible. On top of that, two dogs and a fry was 10 bucks! Girl at the front just looked at me like I was an idiot when I walked in and order. Don’t know what was up with that. Used to eat here as a kid all time and when I came home on leave from the military. Won’t be going back now. Texas Tavern has better hotdogs nowadays.

Just wanted tea, and they were out at 12;30. The person there said they were too busy to make more. They are only open 5 hrs a day, so I was surprised they ran out so early. It’s busy I know during the holiday season, but still….plan accordingly or have more staff.

Mediocre hotdogs with chili, raw onions, and mustard. Tasted sweet which isn't to my liking. $3.32/each with tax is not worth.

This is what a chili dog SHOULD taste like! I grew up on these and wishes they had one in Los Angeles. Pinks does not even come close. I had to bring back extra just fir my friends and family.

The price of a hot dog was way to high when all you get is a slap of mustard , and a teaspoon of chili and a few fake onions. I was very disappointed. I have been going to the Roanoke Weiner Stand since I was 2 years old, now being 72 years old. The weeny tasted like chicken instead of all beef. I use to ask for extra mustard and it was no problem. Now you charge 45 cents for extra mustard which is not even 1/4 teaspoon. This is beyond ridiculous . I will never return to this rip off joint again. Word of mouth is best advertisement and trust me I will be telling all of my friends that have been loyal customers for 70 years.Parking: no parking unless you are lucky and find one on the street

The definition of resting on one's laurels. You have to have prescription grade rose tent on your nostalgia glasses to give this place more than 2 stars. Roll the dice and you may have an ok hotdog and some 30min. old fries. But I am going somewhere else.Parking: If you go, give yourself time to park because a spot can be hard to find.

Just do. No frills time tested hot dog stand with a distinctly flavored Coney that is on par with the best.

Just don't. Hot dogs are poor quality & have zero girth. They charge 75 cents for relish. Mustard is watered down. Fountain drink is mostly ice. Ketchup packets are thrown on your tray. Employees don't care.

Still as bad as it always is and expensive for what you get. Proof that some places only exist because they have always existed.
