Shakers Restaurant

Horrible experience. The descriptions on the menu are inaccurate. I went and had lunch with my 86-year-old mother. We ordered salads. She ordered Cobb salad and I ordered the fried chicken salad, because the description says it's served on a bed of "mixed greens". I hate iceberg lettuce. When my salad came, I ate the fried chicken tenders, but complained, because the salad was nothing but iceberg and romaine lettuce. The young, so-called manager, named TJ, was very rude and unapologetic and told me that lettuce is mixed greens. He told me if I wasn't happy, I could go to cooperate, in which I did. I was truly embarrassed by how I was treated in front of my mom. Update: I spoke to the owner Bob, he was super apologetic and embarrassed at how his employee treated us. He said the menu has been the same way for 30 plus years. We discussed how lettuce and mixed greens are NOT the same thing, and is misleading on the menu. I know after speaking with him that he will do the right thing.

Great food!

Stopped by for a light dinner. Ended up with delicious, fresh salad platters - oriental and blue cheese ( different salads :)). - both were great. The sever was great - friendly, checked in with us often - all in all, a good dinner! The only “ding” is for their house wine, not the best!

Love the salt and pepper catfish!

Onion Rings are the Best. Disappointed for the 1st time on an entre but server was TOP NOTCH. Offered to replace it quickly & she was very busy that night. It also appeared that the air-conditioning on the side that we were in had died.
All in all still a great place to go & we will go back next time we are either in Roanoke or Lynchburg.

Our visit to Shakers started out good. But the server was horrible. No refills on drinks. She disappeared for a while then asked if we wanted desert. When we said we didn't she seemed mad and disappeared again. She walked by and dropped the check off and left us with the check for 15 minutes or more before she picked it up. When she brought the check back she slammed it on the table and was very loud so that people couldn't hear me saying that we weren't going to eat there anymore. It's a shame because the food was actually pretty good

Food was great! Service was excellent! We Would highly recommend the bang bang shrimp! Steak was cooked perfect!

Tonight was our second consecutive visit with mixed reviews. They sat us in the far corner at a wobbly table. I tried the Chicken Stir fry that was described as having a "zesty" sauce. The rice, chicken, and vegetables were soaking in the sauce that was so spicy that I could barely eat it. I told that waitress, and she responded by asking if I wanted a box to take it home. An appetizer, two iced teas (that we had to ask for refills), Chicken Stirfry, and Spaghetti took 90 minutes and cost $70 with an 18% tip. That's a lot of money for food you couldn't eat.

Good food. Decent prices. Very nice waitress, but the host staff were weird. The atmosphere felt weird, but the food was so good that we didn’t care. Cinnamon apples were bussin and I loved them, even though I couldn’t see the cinnamon on them. I didn’t feel welcomed, and we were being stared at. Food was good though.
