The food, service, drinks, and atmosphere here are absolutely amazing. Every cocktail is killer. For dinner, my wife and I split the oysters, schnitzel, and pot pie. For 48 hours after that dinner, I couldn’t shut up about it. I will definitely be back

Went on a Wednesday. It was a great more private dinner date. We enjoyed the steak a lot, and the whole fish. Caroline took good care of us!

Stock is an amazing place, very special in a city of special places. The location is choice, situated inside a boutique hotel (Firehouse One) and locally-crafted furniture store (TXTR), with a stylish dining room, bar and patio. The setting is just FUN. The staff are engaging, professional, knowledgeable, and delightfully authentic & quirky. Jeff Farmer's Scandinavian-style menu is spectacular and very much worth a special visit!!!! I ALWAYS get some VA oysters to start and they NEVER miss. My wife loves the fried gouda sticks to start as well. The bread & butter and the stock board are def crowd pleasers for a large party as well (I don't always share MY oysters...). My entree go-to is the Pork Schnitzel, which you simply can't get anywhere else in the region. SO GOOD, FLAVORFUL AND SATISFYING. My favorite wine is the reliably delicious and sippable Les Heretiques red. The bartenders are also legitimate mixologists who delight & surprise upon request.Don't forget to add Stock on Facebook and Insta, they have special one-off menus on Mondays which bring even MORE innovative and international items from Northern European cultures. Google "Glizzy" and start from there....HOWEVER,My REAL reason for posting a review now is that my wife hosted a surprise 50th birthday party for me at TXTR/Stock, with ~100 of my genuinely favorite people in the world. Yes, that is correct. My wife threw me a surprise party with over 8 dozen people in a Roanoke Restaurant. Where else could this have been possible, other than Stock with its built-in showroom?!?! Jeff & his crew worked in secret to provide food & drink for 100 guests over a three-hour period. EVERYONE was blown away by the badass location, the uber-cool vibre, the amazing food, the delectable drinks and the winsome staff. The attention to multiple overlapping customer needs and the shared experience of so many people simultaneously was PERFECTION.For the rest of my life, Stock will be a second home. You should visit soon!

This has become our favorite go to place when we want a bit upscale but extremely comfortable. It is such a unique concept of being in an old firehouse that is a very nice local furniture store in front and an Airbnb/hotel on the top floor with the restaurant in the back. You can peruse and sit comfortably while having your drinks and if you have a bigger party or just want something more casual, you can also sit out in the furniture area. The chef, Jeff, is super creative and brings a fun and funky Monday menu most weeks. (Alligator hotdog anyone?) you never know what kind of creative drinks and food will be offered. There’s also a great outdoor seating area.Highest of recommendationsParking: There is free street parking all around the building and a big lot 1/2 block down

Best restaurant I've been to in Roanoke in years! Five star everything: ambience, presentation, service and the food itself. I had the elk stew. Highly recommend! Others in our party had the pork schnitzel, trout and gravlax. Rave reviews all around.

So impressive was the service and atmosphere. Definitely unique and looking forward to making a reservation and going back for more.Enjoyed a surprisingly delicious mocktail that was creative, citrusy, and had a spicy kick at the end.

I went for "restaurant week" twice. The first time I didn't order the preset meal for restaurant week and got the lamb. It was tender and very good. The second time, I did order a preset 3 course meal for $45 (not including tax or tip). The appetizer I choose was like a chicken swarma salad. The main course was a chicken pot pie, and the dessert was mini creme puff pancakes topped with lingonberries. It was all very good! The place also doubles as a show room for purchasable furniture. It's a cool concept because you wait in there before you are seated and they come by and ask you if you would like drinks. It's also in an old firehouse; which was interesting to see. It was a cool experience for me and my friends and the staff were very nice and attentive.

really great restaurant with dutch style foods that you don’t see often in VA. My friends loved the signature cocktails they tried and I was happy with the beer selection. Hanger steak usually isn’t my favorite cut but they cooked it perfectly and had it generously seasoned. The fries with melted gouda were incredible. My gf had the chicken salad dutch open sandwich, the ingredients seemed fresh and high quality. After dinner they allowed us to lounge and continue drinking in the attached furniture showroom.

I feel I must provide some feedback on my dining experience at Stock Restaurant in early December. I offer this information and my critique in the hopes that the "powers that be" at Stock will make all efforts to address the issues that I describe and attempt to improve their offerings. To start the cocktails were "spot on" and the dessert, the ice cream sandwich was excellent. Now on to the heart of the matter. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the utilization of the space and seating, though I would recommend that patrons not be required to ask for dinnerware, water and napkins when food is served to them.We had several items from the menu the first being the "Stock Board" which IMHO is well thought out and delicious with variety and quality, however the portion sizes of the "house smoked pickled and cured fish" as well as the cheese items were lacking and when I say "lacking" I really mean nowhere near adequate. A more appropriate menu listing would be;Stock BoardCapers, Mustard and CornichonsScant Samplings of House Smoked Pickled and Cured Fishwith Toasted Bagel Slices. We then had the "Kapsalon" which, when done correctly, is delicious. The reality of the dish served to us was, well let's say, not very well received by the four of us. I failed to locate the smoked Gouda and I failed miserably in finding the chicken shawarma within the dish. The french fries were lukewarm and the assembly of the dish was unnerving as it resembled a hedgehog in a bowl. The topping of shredded lettuce, which was eerily reminiscent of Taco Bell shredded lettuce (not my description but that of one of my companions) obscured all ingredients. We also decided to partake in the Schnitzel. I am quite the schnitzel fanatic and I do enjoy a proper schnitzel. Well, I do not know how one could do it but Stock managed to serve a schnitzel that was riddled with gristle? Is pork loin utilized or some other, less adequate cut used? As for the warm potato salad the only proper descriptor/feeling all four of us could muster was sadness.

Surely the most unique dining experience in the region, well, anywhere! It blends seamlessly into a showroom for Txtur Furniture, which is all crafted in Roanoke, Virginia.I think you can sit for a meal and then buy the chair in which you're sitting. And it was pretty comfortable too.The food is amongst the best in Roanoke, and the bar has the trademark of Jeff Farmer, the executive chef. All the drinks are awesome.I'd say if you were in Roanoke for a brief period of time that this would be on the top of the list places that you would want to eat.Oh, it's an old refurbished fire station too!In a boutique hotel on top of it all.Don't miss it!Perhaps you'll buy some furniture too!

I had no idea this place was right downtown, and I'm glad I found it! Excellent cocktails, the seating area is huge, and the buidling itself has so much character.
