A great place to visit with friends, with wonderful outdoor seating for pleasant days. Awesome coffee drinks with a good variety.

I enjoy Sweet Donkey coffee. They are a welcome departure from Mill Mountain Coffee and have a cosier places to sit. Went recently and they were really busy, enjoyed though someone left the paper to read. Friendly baristas even though they were slammed.

I didn't use their service but my friend got a plain coffee and cost $7. To expensive and it will continue as long as we regularly visit and make purchases. 7 bucks for 1 coffee?? Naw

Sometimes there’s a wait, especially on the weekend, but it’s worth it.

18 dollars for 2 “large” (I could spit in the cup and fill it up) cups of hopelessly mediocre coffee. The atmosphere of the counter being in what I can only describe as a botanist trap house is the only saving grace. save your money and go get some gas station coffee cause at least then you are paying for what you get. Better yet down a swig of germ X and you’ll get an idea of the taste

Incredibly mediocre coffee thats ridiculously overpriced, I like supporting local bussiness's but at this point starbucks would be a better option

It’s really unfortunate that the employee that waited on me was so unkind. I came here a while back and am really sad since this has always been one of my favorite places to go when I visit Roanoke. You never know what someone is going through and it cost nothing to be kind.

Two days in Roanoke = two trips to SDC! What a fabulous find due to a wrong Burton a walk. Don’t miss this gem. Great staff, coffee/tea, atmosphere, food. Plenty of seating inside and out. Open in the evening with beer/wine - next trip!

Stopped in on a Saturday, based on the location, parking is a little tricky for some I’m sure, we didn’t have much trouble. A mix of indoor and plenty of outdoor seating is available. Staff was friendly but our drinks were just ok. One of our drinks the milk seemed not to taste very good. With tip it was $19 for what looked like 2 small drinks. Don’t think we will return sadly.
I’ve tried just about every coffee shop in Roanoke, and nothing comes close to this place. I’m here almost every day, and it never disappoints. The quiche is my absolute favorite — and every latte I’ve had has been perfect. The baristas are friendly, remember your name, and make the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. This is hands-down my go-to spot!!
