Going here is like going back in time.
It's a small place with a simple menu.
Very low prices, the burgers are small but still a bargain for the money.
If you're in the area, coming here is a must, even if you re going out to dinner, you can come here first for a snack. It's more about the experience of a place like this, there aren't many of these anymore.
Definitely recommend especially if you have kids, you'll want them to see it, besides.. what kid doesn't enjoy burgers or hot dogs?

This place is all about the Nostalgia, cool little place in the heart of the city. I had a burger which I wasn’t impressed with but seemed everyone was ordering Chili so that must be the better choice. I would return and try something different next time if I’m in the area again. The service was good enough but not impressive. They accept cash only

i think the only thing keeping this place in business is nostalgia and cheap prices. I went in near midnight and the place was full. it was impossible to get our order in. someone behind us ordered before us. when we finally told the guy our order they came back to us about 17 times and checked our order again and again. finally it came out and it was not good. maybe the most mid burger i’ve ever had - the burger is tiny. then i look over at the grill top and it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. the counter was an absolute mess with onions and relish all over the place. there’s stains all over the ceiling and walls. i’m sorry to say it but this place needs an overhaul

Came across Texas Tavern during our visit to Roanoke, VA. Its so nostalgic, it's like the city built up around it. Known for their cheesy western burger with egg and their 100 year old recipe chili. I dont think the prices have changed a lot in 20 years, with a place that has good food, nostalgic history, and able to feed a family of 4 under 20 bucks Is unheard of AND its open 24 hours!
If you are around Roanoke and want to enjoy the nostalgic feels. Then you need to definitely check out Texas Tavern. And tell them Diesel and Mo sent ya. ✌️🙏💫

Excellent classic American food, cheap, fast, CASH ONLY but the atm inside is only $2 service fee. 1 hour parking along the street and paid parking every 15 minutes on site at Texan tavern. A must try when you are in the area or want an American experience.

You either like it or you don't. It's one of those local things, I guess. Assuming it's the old regulars that keep it going.
