Anything but Southern Cooking! Do not know how to fry an egg over easy, food served cold, biscuit is a sweet pan bread but nowhere near a biscuit! Chicken not fried, tasted like a Tyson frozen tender heated and covered in an orange sauce they tried to call gravy. Standard frozen breakfast tators and not even a full piece of bacon. Said I was getting a waffle on the menu but I got half a waffle which was ok - so the mix was good. Grits served chunky and so cold, the cheese didn’t melt. As for service, there was none, never came back by and it was not crowded or busy when I stop by for brunch. The final kicker was no restroom, had to go outside and in a side door to the market to use theirs. A very bad experience and will not be back especially after reaching out and not only did they remove my post but they failed to reply.
Food was not good for the money we paid. Put too much parsley on the cold eggs. One sad, skinny, piece of bacon on the chicken hoagie and on the chicken biscuit. Potatoes were cold as well. Other items for other customers including drinks were returned because they weren’t made correctly. Watched a rum and coke get called out twice to the server and it sat for at least 10 minutes. We had a bad experience in the past as well, but decided to try again since Scrambled had a 20 minute wait and we had errands to run. We will definitely just wait next time for the overall quality we receive at Scrambled. Went this morning and was amazing as always.
We were recommended this spot from a local, and I don’t think we can trust locals. The restaurant was small, service was okay and the food was just okay too. When ordering the kids meals, we were told the chicken and waffles came with half a Belgian waffle and a chicken strip. We were shocked when it came out with the littlest bit of fries, and a fourth of a waffle. I don’t know how any child would realistically be full or even satisfied. Both adult meals weren’t at all what we had pictured reading the descriptions and the check came to us with higher prices than what the menu stated with little recourse. We spent $70 but realistically should have spent $40 at best. We feel ripped off.
Jami Lee worked hard to give good service. They were busy food was great service was awesome.

The good: the fried cauliflower was very tasty and the shrimp on my po boy was absolutely delicious.
The bad: service took forever, despite the restaurant only being about half full. My girlfriend and I ordered an app of fried cauliflower and a catfish and shrimp po boy respectively. It took about an to get our sandwiches. As I mentioned, the shrimp on mine was delicious, however the bun was lackluster, the other toppings (lettuce and tomato) were sparse and haphazardly strewn on the bun, and they forgot to put sauce on it. For $15 I expected more than a cold, lame bun and 4 shrimp.
It also seems like they offer 10% discounts on your bill in exchange for 5 star reviews (based on a Reddit post my girlfriend found); so be wary of positive reviews you see posted.
Conclusion: I expected much better from a Roanoke staple. Seems like they're coasting on reputation at this point. Expect your meal to really much longer than expected.

Same sweet dressing on the poor boy as on every other sandwich, random parsley on my breakfast waffle, two servers for the whole restaurant at lunch - they were certainly pleasant, but the food was disappointing.

We came in from out of town and this place was a huge let down. From the hostess trying to find a table for us, to the entire dining experience, I would not recommend. Our waitress Chastity was kind and did her job well. However, the cleanliness of this place took away from the experience. Our napkins that held our utensils were covered in stains from multiple uses before us. We ordered hush puppies and one of them was cooked with a piece of plastic in it. The small plates offered to us were dirty and we couldn’t eat off of one of them, so we opted to not use it. The rims of our cups were also so dirty, im glad that straws were offered to us.
For the price of this place and the expectations we had, we left incredibly disappointed. The taste of the food was lost in the entire experience.
The staff that are responsible for the cleanliness of this restaurant need to put forth more effort.
