Our party was dining to celebrate many years of friendship and common history including many experiences at the hotel. We were very pleased with the renovations and the architectural features that were preserved and are so unique and charming. The staff at the restaurant couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and the meals were exceptional. I do think that the newest person on the team, who served us water and told us that he played the piano, should be allowed at least one or two opportunities each night for the benefit of the guests. I'm only half joking. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Beautiful dining room. Staff was friendly, but food was average and not worth the cost, The Spring salad was the worst salad that I have had in any restaurant of any kind, Had the salmon which was adequate. Was told that it was wild but that is doubtful. Had lemon merengue pie for dessert which was excellent. Wonderful jazz trio.

I didn't feel that the Regency Room was one of the Roanoke "stars" when we dined there last Wednesday. The 6:30 PM reservation for the three of us (a reunion of childhood friends who are now Baby Boomers) started out in a bad way when we walked into the dining room on schedule and shared our reservation time. The maitre d' looked at me strangely and said we would have to wait awhile even though it looked as though the restaurant had only a few diners. My one friend and I both had the salmon and risotto which was quite good; however, my other friend had ordered the shrimp/scallop dish and the waiter came back and said there may not be enough scallops and asked if she would accept all shrimp. He didn't mention that there would be a discount on the dish. Luckily there were still a couple of scallops left in the kitchen for her plate so she enjoyed her meal. However, one thing we couldn't understand: before the dishes were served, the waiter took away the beautiful large china plates at each of our places and then brought the meals in what looked like plain wooden bowls. Sadly, the meals would have been much easier to eat and more enjoyable to look at if they were on the china plates. One more thing: the pricey cherry cheesecake was very strange as it came in a glass cup instead of a wedge on a plate. My poor friend could barely eat it. And then the noise started. Why people continue to bring their babies to nice restaurants is beyond me(?). When our children were young, we got babysitters when it was going to be a special night out at an upscale restaurant. Anyway, one baby decided to start screaming and crying and the parent(s) put up with it for way too long before exiting with the baby. One more comment: beware if you decide to use the valet parking -- you will be charged the daily rate instead of an hourly rate. It would be nice if this could be adjusted for diners, especially Baby Boomers with mobility problems.

The Regency room has the best ambiance upon walking into the room. Everything from the hostess to the Jazz trio playing music was lovely. Despite the restaurant being sold out the service was top notch!! We will be back again and again.

Our waiter was rude. For the second night in a row, you were out of a bottle of wine listed on the wine list. It took 30 minutes both nights for the waiter to finally bring a bottle of wine. Ridiculous.

My husband and I have been to the Regency room at least five or six times. Our visit has often begun with Lowell the maître de. What a joy to always see his smiling face. He is attentive to every single person in that restaurant any and all times we've been there. Our server last night was Angie. She was wonderful as well. I highly recommend the Regency room if you're looking for a touch of elegance, a great meal and the best team of serving support ever!

We celebrated my 66th birthday while I was in town for a conference. It was not my first time at the Regency Room and it's elegance had not changed. The meal and the service were as always impeccable.

We have been here twice and the service and food are excellent! We enjoyed dinner and breakfast. This has become one our favorite restaurants. We really enjoyed the jazz music at the dinner service last night. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Tonight, the Regency Room was missing on its sparkle. The food was very well prepared and the music was entertaining but the service was lacking. The host was missing from the front desk and 2 other couples were waiting as well. Fortunately one of the servers noticed and seated us. Our server noticeably had more tables than usual and apologized for being distracted. It has typically been much better in all aspects. However, we enjoyed it and had a good time and we will see how our next visit goes.

lovely decor and service is excellent. Chef is mediocore at best. Food choices limited and frankly all 4 of us found the food wanting. To much garnish, clover. fish not deboned. 2 shrimp and 2 scallops in a 36 dollar dinner. crab cakes way to much seasoning. buffet here a very nice just dinner-to many fine restaurants in Roanoke to come here and overpay for food

Great service from all, and wonderful food. There is no where better in the area for classy, old-fashioned (in the best way) dining elegance.

Old world meets new world. The ambience can't be beat. Loved the live music! They were so talented. Menu choices were amazing. We had a bottle of excellent Cab, 2 bowls of the She Crab Soup , Shrimp & Scallop Chesapeake and a Romaine Salad. The only downfall was that we booked for a special occasion- our actual 40th wedding anniversary, and they did not recognize that at all. The table two down from us were there fire their 50th and they brought them both Champagne.
