The Tater Shack

Not sure what’s up. Tried going and was closed. Looked up on FB and says closed until Aug 7th. Been trying 2 days now (Aug 8th and 9th) to call and see if they are open to place a order and first the phone was ringing and now it’s like someone is sending it to VM after a couple rings. Maybe if they are still not able to open they should adjust the days they will be closed till.

The lady was sooooo sweet and kind. Fries are super fresh and toppings. Guacamole was delicious. I couldn’t even eat 1/4 of this without being full. Soooooo worth the money. Did I mention she was super sweet and kind to me.

Visited the tater shack the other day for lunch. We were greeted upon entering the small establishment. We were asked if we had been here before once we answered "no" the lady was quick to show us how everything works on the menu as it was a little overwhelming at first. After reviewing the menu for a few minutes I went with the steak and cheese tater tots and let me tell you something the portion size is easily enough for two people. I don't know how but the tater tots stay crispy pretty much the whole time. They also go the extra mile and give you instructions on how to reheat your meal once you are back at home ensuring us that they have tried every method and this is the one that works the best. I must say I am impressed the reheat instructions were perfect as we reheated our leftovers that night and they were just as good as they were there in the restaurant! The only thing that could have been a little bit better was the cleanliness of the restaurant not to say that it was dirty by any stretch of the imagination but I'm very particular and very aware of my surroundings when I walk in to eat somewhere especially smaller establishments. Definitely will be back and try some other creations. In the words of The late Bob Barker.... "The price is right" on this one as the bang for buck is astonishing.

Amazing experience and excellent food!!!

Just had this today and first bite sent me thru the roof I posted it instantly it’s definitely a go to for me from now on once I shared it that was it they wiped me out? I gotta get back in there and place another order asap Great amazing people too which makes my first experience top tier?? yall have gain at least 6 new customers when I walked out with that massive serving you can’t beat it at all????

on a weekend trip to see some friends in VA we decided to try this place and it is not a let down. amazing and friendly staff and food just as amazing. I can't wait to try more of their menu soon

Went here with my family for lunch. It’s a little seat yourself joint where menus are already laid out for you to peruse. We were promptly given a rundown of how everything works and instructed to go up and order at the counter when we were ready. We got the Wavy Pool, Whole Hog, and the special for the day — chicken, bacon, and ranch. It took about 15 minutes to get our food, but it was worth the wait. The Wavy Pool was a delightful poutine, which my brother scarfed down in its entirety without taking much time to participate in conversation. Whole Hog had quite a large amount of pulled pork (made in-house!) that was soft and tender, and a nice, Carolina vinegar based BBQ. It was a little thicker than I’m used to being from Raleigh, but it was tasty. The chicken, bacon, ranch was full of cheese! I opted to get it with tater tots. The chicken and tots were crispy. The bacon was thick, fatty, and salty. I wish it had been a little more crispy, but it still worked well with everything else. The woman behind the counter was very kind, helpful, and attentive. I will 100% be returning. Hopefully there’s an eating challenge available next time I go!

I ordered through Grubhub. The portions were huge and enough for probably 3 meals for me. I ordered the Mac Daddy and it was yummy. Highly recommend and I will order from them again.

this place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We got 3 different styles and each one was wonderful!

Lovely place, and they're always so welcoming when we come in. They remember me by name, and my daughter. It's wonderful.Food is delicious. We're vegetarian, so hopefully they add some boca crumbles or beyond beef crumbles to the menu soon, as an alternative to the meat. That would make this place absolutely perfect!
