Devils Backbone Basecamp Brewpub

Tried to have dinner here but was turned away 90min before closing because supposedly they were too full. We placed a to go order because food options in the area are somewhat sparse. In the time it took for the food to come out half the restaurant cleared out (mind you this is at 7pm and still a full hour the posted closing time). To make matters worse they messed up the to order, completely omitting (yet still charging for) an order of pulled pork. As we were leaving they were seating walk-ins, so it seems like maybe it wasn’t an issue of availability at all but possibly a combination of racism and/or homophobia to turn our group away.

Seems like DB is resting on the notoriety of the Vienna Lager and letting everything else slip. Just get a six pack from a grocery store and save your meal out for somewhere that will actually welcome you.

What an awesome place to visit. The food and beer and mixed drinks are all amazing. The outside area is really cool with plenty of space.

Awesome place, second time here. It was crappy outside so we sat inside next to the fire place. It was so comfortable, the food was great. We got BBQ and a chicken sandwich-both were yummy. Kids menu and very friendly as well. Of course amazing beer selection!

We visited the restaurant for a casual dinner and a beer with my husband and grand. It was a very slow night, even during peak dinner hours, and service started out great. Toward the end of our meal, my son and his wife arrived in town earlier than expected and were starving, so they met us at the restaurant. We informed our server ahead of time, paid our bill so he could close out, and asked to be moved to a table that could seat five.
Even though there were several open tables across multiple sections—and no visible dinner rush—they made an unexpectedly big deal about accommodating us. We were not asking to be seated ahead of other waiting parties (there was a group of six ahead of us), but there were several other empty tables that would have allowed us to sit together without inconveniencing anyone. Instead, the situation was announced to multiple staff members, and our server repeatedly commented that some of our party had already eaten, which felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable.
By the time we left around 8 p.m., the restaurant was nearly empty, so the resistance to simply moving us to a larger table felt even more frustrating. We still tipped generously—50%—because we always try to be considerate. But the experience left us feeling disappointed. A slow night should be the easiest time to show hospitality, and unfortunately, that’s not how it felt.

WOW. this place is so amazing! Emmalee was incredible, such a wonderful server and a joy to be around!! kelly in the distillery lounge will get you RIGHT! great bartender with great energy all around🧡 definitely recommend coming to hang out here 🫶🏼

A great location to spend your Saturday! Great beers, and they even had some fun jello shooter syringes when we were there for Halloween. They know how to have a good time!

10/10 dogs come here as well, very good boys.

Good food, great service, and awesome atmosphere for a little trip into the mountains. There are even some lovely and very friendly brewery kitties roaming about. Can't beat the location and views.

Pumpkin Ale was great! Pulled pork platter was not edible. Pork dry without any flavor. Collards were steamed without anything cooked with them, like ham or vinegar. Just bitter steamed collards. Coleslaw was sour and had a smoked flavor. Waitress offered to take off bill. We declined offer and she was lovely. Hamburger was fare.

A craft beer lovers paradise! If you stayed in the campground, you can just walk to the brewery! Great vibe, great beer!
