The Copper Mine Restaurant

Came here on a whim while staying in Wintergreen resort, and was pleasantly surprised, everyone was soooo nice and pleasant!! My husband and I both got the Friday prime rib, and it was really good, the vegetables were hot and cooked perfectly! I was a lil nervous when we sat down because of the other reviews, but they didn’t disappoint :)

Food was great server was really was really nice. Do you recognize us the second day we went there definitely recommending family style pasta meatballs, and the cod was the dessert was great and beautiful Mountain View

We decided to spend July 4th weekend at resort as a getaway with some friends. Once you are at the lodging, food choices are limited depending on the day of the week and time of year.

We wound up at The Copper Mine. The first time was for dessert. My spouse had the chocolate gelato which was icy. I thought o.k. maybe we just got an old batch.

On Saturday, we tried a hot dog from the stand that the resort was running. That was just o.k. and not great.

We decided to try dinner on Saturday at the Copper Mine because we wanted a hot meal, that was not pizza or a sandwich since choices are also limited in town off resort. The calamari was just o.k. It was a little undercooked, but I thought o.k. the marinara was not bad. I tried the main as the Chicken Parmesan. I ordered it with everything on the side so I could control how it was constructed. The marinara may have been the same but it was not great. It had very little herbs and spices. The spaghetti was sort of dry and overcooked. The chicken itself also had very little flavor. My spouse had the chicken Marsala was which was also very flavorless with very little sauce.

As a premier resort, I would hire a new executive chef and re-vamp the dishes that are served. They can and should want to do better.

This place has great food and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Calamari was 10/10, and that says something because I live near the ocean. Would definitely return.

The food here was horrible and did not taste good the staff was very nice and the atmosphere was good the food came out fast and was not good at all. Cheese in the cheese ravoly was horriable tasting didn’t eat any of it.

We came in after some time on the plunge. It was a Sunday night and it almost felt closed, but it was still taking guests. We waited for 15 minutes before anyone would wait on us. Finally, the hostess took our order. The main course came out 30 minutes later and a couple of minutes later we got our apps and salads. None of it was delicious. Eat before you come to Wintergeen or bring groceries, no good food here.

Ms. Cici and the staff at the Copper Mine are nothing short of extraordinary. The food is delicious and cooked to perfection! The restaurant is super clean with a wonderful high class ski atmosphere. Without a doubt the nicest place to eat at Wintergreen and surrounding areas! Can not compliment the establishment and staff enough! 10/10

Horrible food! Ordered the steak, that thing came out as if they lightly boiled it and served it raw no seasoning just disgusting. Also the soup was lukewarm, it was a 4/10 and a kids portion. The spaghetti was gross, nothing good. Don’t waste your money!

This is the worst food I’ve ever eaten. Ordered rigatoni and an entire sausage was covering the pasta which wasn’t cooked right. The pasta broke apart when you picked it up. The ranch salad dressing tasted like spoiled milk. The pasta sauce tasted like Ragu from Food Lion. The food was hugely overpriced. We should have been paid to eat that food. My son ordered chicken parm and the chicken was burned. Never eat at this place!

Poor service… head waitress was not customer centric but the trainee waiter was very amicable. Try Edge or Pizza place next door for better service.

I was not explained how a family style meal works (Thanksgiving Day) and so I ordered a meat for my 9yo daughter and a meat for me, along with an appetizer for her and for me. I to the waitress that I was only paying for the two of us (I have another 6yo daughter.) The price for my meal was bc $60, and the price for a child under 12 is $15. I thought $75 was pricy, but for thanksgiving I decided to just do it and not spend any other money the rest of the weekend. My total came back as $174. I told with the manager and she removed $15 from my receipt.

I expected the $60 to come off and she would not do that. She told me the servers are told to explain “family style” To the guests, and I told her ours did not. She walked away. I am so upset and frustrated. I feel taken advantage of, robbed, and treated unfairly. I should have paid $75, and I walked out having paid a $158 check.

Over priced buffet items ($20/person not including coffee) ranged from gross, to tasteless, and in some cases rotten. The restaurant and resort should better advertise that the traditional menu is not available during the weekend and that buffet is the only option. Waitresses were pleasant, but we couldn’t get past the nasty food.

Eating here is not worth the time savings and will cost you more. Drive somewhere else or enjoy some random snacks in your room.

Service was horrendous and they weren’t even busy. Don’t be in a hurry! My chicken outcasts was ok but others had food that was cold.
