Mama Maria's is now our favorite Salem Restaurant. We were gone from this area for over 22 years and recently moved back here after retiring. I have tried a lot of Italian Restaurants, but none of them match up to this one (except maybe one in NY). Since we re-found this, we have returned at least once per week since our return. Everything is freshly made and delicious. The red sauce (or gravy) is the real thing. The flavor is perfect. It is not spaghetti and meatballs. Portions are large enough to share, salads are fresh, bread comes prior to meal with 3 dipping oils which require finishing, (bread is homemade and melts in your mouth). Senior meals for people old like me are perfect size and generous, they come with choice of side salad or soup. If you happen to be there on crab bisque day...do not miss it!!! Atmosphere is clean and not crowded, Service is efficient and friendly, and it is a great value for your money!

This was the 2nd time coming to eat got there early normally you get bread with oils to dip which I really like but this time I didn't get it which the waiter said it was not ready but I found it odd that the next couple that came in not even five minutes after we set got it immediately and we had not even got our food which was ok but not the best not sure if we will be back anytime soon

The staff had attitudes the food was not that good they added tips twice and they charged 4.00 for a Dr Pepper and I went with multiple people and we are all projectile vometing the bathroom smelled awful and there was mold coming out of the ceiling tiles

We found this gem as we were traveling to South Carolina. Since we are all senior citizens,we ordered off the Sr citizen menu. We all ordered veal parmigiana, the size was perfect and the food was delicious. The walter was young and attentive, so attentive that he was removing empty plates before my friend was even done eating. There was no room left for Gelato, which was very tempting..

When you name your restaurant after Mamma, it portends a savory, welcoming experience for your meal, and Mamma Maria's was just that. Wonderful, attentive, cheerful staff (thank you, Jade!) and a menu with enough choices to satisfy every member of your party ensured us a very satisfying, taste-full meal. If you're wanting Italian, you won't be dissapointed here!

We looked for a place that had good reviews read through them and decided on Mamma Maria's place was empty maybe because was time of the evening didn't know out of all the empty table and booths they sit us beside the only other patrons in the establishment don't understand why waitres came took drink orders came back 15 minutes later with drinks and some bread , gave us literally 3 minutes to look at menu and asked us for our order smh we was all undecided so I asked for some time she came back 3 more tome in less than 5 minutes? Finally, 15 minutes later, we were ready to order. i tried to flag her, but she was busy talking. i asked the other waiter, and he told her placed a order for Alfredo pasta, 2 side ceser salads and a Sicilian meat lovers pizzas said oh it will take over a hour I said I understand i know the pizza these are always made fresh and deep square pizzas I want to try your restaurants ok welp 25 minutes later here comes the food WOW I said pasta sauce was watery and asked 3 times fir bread that comes with it she kept forgetting, asked fir oregano and garlic fir the pizza she said they are out of garlic (a Italian restaurant out of garlic ) ok welp the pizza SUCKED wasn't done all the way outside was burnt and crispy center pieces was raw cheese was not melted and doughy I even turned it upside down and showed her she said that's the way they come????? WOW don't know where they buy their reviews from ?

Had lasagna, my wife has angel hair pasta with meat sauce. We saw our waitress twice, we both ran out of drinks. At the end she said sorry I have not been back to your table, with no apologies or explanation. Customers were very loud. Not a good experience.
We enjoy hanging out in the back room with our Art group eating delicious Italian food and getting the glorious home made GELATO Mamma Maria's should be famous for°

I reserved the back room for 2025 people on Friday, November 29th 2024. I had a lot of cancelations during the day so I could not give a 24 hour notice. I didn't need the back room. I arrived 5:30 pm and told the Mgr on duty I had a lot of cancelations and we didn't need the big room. She said you reserved the room so you can have it. Nothing was said about a $75.00 room fee until I got my check. I looked at my bill and a $75.00 room charge was on my ticket. We got the server and complained. She got the Mgr and I was told by the Mgr that Dominic the owner said to charge me a room fee. My complaint is I was never told I would be charged on the phone or in person. We will not go to mamma Maria's again. This is why I am leaving a bad review not being told up front about a room rental fee.

I got the Chicken Alfredo, the sauce is sweet for some reason which is absolute trash, they charged me 3.00 to add a few pieces of broccoli, and 1.99 just to add some Caesar dressing to the piss poor salad they offer. This was to go so I can't speak to the atmosphere of the restaurant, the lady who greeted me was nice but the guy handling the phone calls and takeout orders was a complete dick. 1.5/5
