Little disappointed, when I asked for a bagel with butter and cream cheese toasted I get a toasted bagel and I get to put the butter and cream cheese on myself.... otherwise nice place

The baked goods are outrageously good and the staff was very friendly! The environment is a bit of a turn off and the latte, if I'm honest, I would avoid; it was bad. But it's still worth going for the bakery and the people.

Mold in my strawberries. Burnt potatoes and eggs. A piece of ceramic pot in a vegetable stew they had as a special. I used to love this place so I gave it several tries after the first time I had my first mishap with the shard of ceramic in my food. But this Salem location has a low standard for quality control and it’s disappointing :/ hope they can improve but I’m not taking any more chances…

I am a semi regular customer of Our Daily Bread in Vinton, so today I stopped in at the Salem location to order a Caprese Sandwich. Our Daily Bread should be ashamed for allowing a premium priced sandwich of such low quality to leave their store. The tomato was cut paper thin with the core still in tact, making the sandwich tough. Instead of fresh mozzarella like a Caprese should have, they used obviously packaged shredded mozzarella. Instead of bright pesto as fresh pesto should be, it was a dark green spread that was applied rather thin which looked like it had seeds. The bread was too thin. For the price, mozzarella should have been fresh & a much better quality, the tomato should have no core and be somewhat thicker, and the pesto should be fresh.
