I have lived in Salem for nearly my entire life. In fact, I can remember this Denny's being built. Finally, Salem had a 24 hour dinner that was better than Shoney's. Years would go by where we would have many family meals at Denny's. I'm not exactly sure when the downfall would start, but it was sometime after I got out of the Army in 2009. For the next decade, service would become spotty and who was cooking the food directly impacted food quality. There becomes times during the day where the food was good and other times when it was horrendous. I'm quite sure that this drop in food quality impacted the tips, and slowly but surely, Denny's lost all the good servers. We would continue to go back to Denny's about once every 4 months just to check to see if our old Denny's was back, but would get bombarded with awful service everytime. Then covid happened. When we would return to Denny's, we would see a single manager cooking 100% of the food and waiting 50% of the tables at the same time. Food took a while, but it was good and hot. Did this mean that old Denny's was back? A few weeks went by and when we returned, the female manager was nowhere to be found, the food wasn't horrible, but service was abysmal again. Way to over-work a solid employee, Denny's. This would also see us not returning for a few years. Then Uber Eats became a thing and we discovered that we could get Denny's delivered. 5 meals from Denny's from Uber Eats costs over $120. With a tip, it was almost $150. An hour and a half later, we would discover that the picture taken by the driver when the food was dropped off was at the business across the street. Keep in mind that while the business is on the other side of the street from my house, the mailing address for the business isn't even on the same street. No worries though as it was 9PM and the business was closed. Imagine my shock when the food wasn't where it was supposed to be. I called Uber Eats and they told me I needed to contact Denny's to get my money back. When I called Denny's, they couldn't even find the receipt nor were they willing to refund my money or refire the order. At almost 11PM, we were forced to go to Waffle House and pay for dinner number 2 (which was actually quite good for Waffle House...2 blocks away...you should go there because this gets worse.) At this point, I'm done with Denny's. I'm done with Doordash. I'm done with Uber Eats. Then my GF decides she wants food at about 10PM last night on a Sunday and she doesn't want breakfast. Sadly, this reduces our choices to Denny's. Fine. I'll give them 1 more chance. We arrived at Denny's to find 3 employees working. A manager who was busy cooking, a server who looked like she hadn't washed her hair in a few weeks and a hostess who seemed like she had been working there just long enough to have relieved training on the POS system, but hadn't really learned it yet. I should have known something was up when the server never came to our table and, after about 5 minutes, the hostess walked over and began taking our order. Our drinks came and we began the wait on the food. I have ADHD and so giving my attention to my GF became rather difficult when over-the-top energy presented itself in the staff. The manager was first. He came running out of the kitchen to check on all the tables. Two problems with this: 1. While he was out talking to the tables, no one was cooking. 2. The way he was talking, almost no one could understand him. He was talking so fast that an auctioneer would be like, "Slow down friend." No One gets halfway through a shift with that much energy without hard drugs and he seemed to have his fair share. Then the server came back. Not our server, that was the hostess, but the nappy haired 20 something with enough holes in her face that made me wonder how she drank liquids. This girl had the EXACT same energy as the manager, talking 50 miles an hour and not maki

The hidden gem in the desert. Almost drove by and didn't noticed it, but so glad I did. Burgers are made fresh like everything they serve, not frozen or microwaved. On way to Rancho Cucamonga from Vegas, stopped and ordered a breakfast burrito. It was great, so I stopped by on the way back to Vegas for a late lunch. Burger, fries & shake were the best. Highly recommend to anyone traveling thru. A+

Bathroom was filthy with no soap. They gave me some when asked and said people steal it so they don't keep it in the bathroom. Limited menu if you don't eat beef. Once was enough for us. Staff is nice. Funky stop.
