Amazing breakfast with extremely friendly staff. So convenient, because we stayed at The Lofts, just above this cute place right on Main Street!

Notes: Avocado toast needs whole chunks. For $12.50 the “toast” should also be toasted. The markup is clear. Feels icky.Biscuits need more lift and omelette too.Preparation and presentation on par with a Hampton Inn.Service slower than should be. Hustle for breakfast. Always. It’s first meal of day. Read the room better- as it was empty I can see why business is slow overall. You guys need good FOH and BOH.Music was good. Atmosphere is upscale, betrayed by the presentation. It doesn’t live up to the first impression as a diner leaving me disappointed.Don’t know if I’ll be back when I can just go to Texas tavern for the same grade of attention.

Great food. Terribly slow service. You will wait 45 minutes for food once your order is placed with an empty water glass.

The two stars are solely for the servers and only for the servers. They were great. Super friendly and fast. The food was abysmal at a level you rarely see. My husband had a breakfast sandwich and in a decade, I’ve never seen him not finish a breakfast sandwich. He didn’t even finish half of it. “The sausage had no taste and was all gristle.” Our potatoes also had zero flavor. And I mean, you could eat a napkin and get more seasoning. The eggs were covered in a weird oil butter that tasted like it was old or not clean. It almost felt like a fake restaurant and it definitely wasn’t a diner - like a good old school greasy diner was our hope. This was just bland, icky and flavorless. It tasted like warmed up airplane food, but not as flavorful. Oh and the coffee? Good lord, that was an embarrassment to coffee everywhere. It was 99.9 percent water and coffee flavoring. I cannot believe the dudes who own Tuco’s in Roanoke own this. A complete redo is in order.

This is a great place with tasty food, first class service and a special vibe that gives everyone in downtown Salem VA a special place to hang out. As a tourist, it was nice to see a local diner deliver on a broad promise of value for my lunch investment!!! I'll be back.

Good food, chicken was abit dry but the syrup made up for such. Coffee was good and bold - nothing special though. Cinnamon Roll was sweet and and well made. Highly recommendDietary restrictions: They do not serve anything with nutsKid-friendliness: Good, bright area.Wheelchair accessibility: On main floor so easy to access

This diner has become a fantastic dining option in Salem, upping my review from 4 to 5. They just expanded their hours to include dinner, service has been great. Freebird sandwich is fantastic, fish and chips are great, home fries side also great.Original 4 star review was for the previous restaurant, they changed their name after a fire:Burnt ends are great. Mac is a bit bland. Bakes beans are vinegar based, and not my taste. Also, it's frigid in there every time I have been. The burnt end sandwich was enough for a solid 4 star rating in my book though.
10/10?
