The food was delicious. I ordered the club sandwich. It was huge!! My husband got a piece of chocolate meringue pie. Rich and decadent. We were passing through, but it was definitely a place that I would stop at again.

Very nice place to stop for a bite to eat. The staff was attentive and the table was clean. Just wanted something simple, so it was the biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the tasty gravy made it almost melt in your mouth. This was a very good meal. The house cut fries were average, not really crispy, and lightly seasoned. Overall good experience and good food.

I always enjoy the food at Smithfield Gourmet Cafe. Friendly staff. Flavorful food. Breakfast is the best but lunch is pretty amazing as well. If you are looking for great food and friendly atmosphere you should stop in.

I've been back a few times because I feel a strong need to support local as my views have changed.
My experience has been positive. The food is very good now, the bathrooms are cleaned. The staff are attentive. I feel there may have been a few bad apples that were staffed a few years ago. Thankfully, they have left.
I am so happy to support this place after I left a terrible review the first time and was astounded, over 2,000 people read it.
I am grateful for the change, and maybe after reading my review, I noticed there were changes. At first, I told everyone to go to Yummaries, but this cafe has reasonable prices and not $30 dollar pies. Her prices are very reasonable for the food you are given.

I eat here weekly, and every time I leave happy and well-satisfied. This is the hometown restaurant every visitor loves to experience! Cozy, incredibly friendly, excellent food, lunch and breakfast. Exceptionally clean. The baked goods are also first class, from the great variety of fresh breads to the cupcakes that are pure nirvana. Everything, always, first rate and delicious.

My husband and I came in for a late lunch. We were seated and that was the last we saw of any of the staff other than being walked past several times. We never saw a server to tell us that she would be with us soon or even get our drink order. After 20 minutes we finally left.

Hands down the best place in Smithfield for breakfast. The quality of the food here is top notch. Smithfield's only true scratch kitchen. Trust me, it makes a big difference. I've had just about everything on the breakfast menu now and the only disappointment I've had is trying to figure out what to eat this visit. Everything has been great. The wait staff is incredible. Very attentive and hospitable. Thanks Dorthy, Desirae & Erin! If you're in the neighborhood, give these guys a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
