I was really expecting to enjoy a grill cheese sandwich with tomato soup on a rainy day! Didn't happen 😕 the bread wasn't toasted/grilled but did have grilled lines on it! Lol After calling back, "Dominic" said the bread is microwaved after the toaster! Wish I knew that before ordering. Major disappointment! We spent $30.29 on some regular white bread and cheese. "Dominic" (manager) didn't care much about it all, pretty nonchalant about it.

I wish I could rate the different services separately. I guess I should have known better than to get a sandwich at an ice cream parlor. I heard so many raves about the sandiwches I had to try one. I got the whole steak and cheese and it was disappointing as you can see from the pic. At $14 and change I expected a pretty hearty sandwich. No joy.
Now the ice cream on the other hand is great.

We had to run an errand in Smithfield on a weekday evening. We needed dinner before our hour and a half trip home, and the menu looked good so we popped in. It was our mistake that they were trying to close for the evening,but the kids working were very accommodating. The food was INCREDIBLE. My daughter even tried something new and was impressed with what she got. I'm so sorry we held them up, we suck....but they and the food were awesome.

This is such a cute little location. They serve Hershey ice cream so nothing especially unique there but tasty in its own. We have not tried food but all of it smelled really good as we were ordering. The staff all seemed about high school age or younger adults.
My children have an allergy to artificial color and I was having a hard time downloading the ingredient list to a few ice creams and all of the staff members stopped to inquire my trouble. Aunt, one young man was able to download it on his phone to help me look.. It really means a lot To not get looked at like a bother when I need to find out ingredients.

Smithfield Ice Cream Parlor is a very popular place. You can have just some great ice cream or a nice lunch before your ice cream or a nice lunch before you have your ice cream. The prices are about equal in price as a trip to a fast food restaurant. This is not another hamburger joint. You can get sub sandwiches (hot or cold), a good pastrami, or corned beef on rye or even hot dogs for the kids. It is a nice place to visit.
Parking: There are places you can find parking.
Kid-friendliness: There is indoor and outdoor seating. Inside you have some boothes, and some counter seating.
