We love the atmosphere at Smithfield Station. It's a really cute spot, right on the water. We love sitting outside during the summertime. However, the food always falls a little short for me. They have a great brunch on the weekend, but it's the same thing every time. We just visited for breakfast with Santa yesterday, and I felt this could've been a great opportunity for them to change things up a little bit, but instead it was the same menu as always. I always go in wanting to love it, but there's some room for improvement.
Went for Thanksgiving. Very nice with good food. It was nice that if you didn't like turkey you could order something else but the Thanksgiving meal was very good. Our group of 6 enjoyed our meal. I would definitely go to Smithfield Station again
Smithfield Station was great - delicious and plentiful food, excellent service, and an intimate atmosphere. We've been coming here for several years for Thanksgiving and are never disappointed
Totally awesome. The zero wait time, amazing server and the delicious food and drinks were above any expectations.
Have been going to the restaurant for 10 or more year the food is awesome, my only complaint is the portions are smaller than ever before. Seafood platter comes with 3 shrimp ,4 scollops and one crab cake that is the size of a 50 cent coin and a small piece of fish and small sides . I was very disappointed in the small portions .

Service was good but the fish and chips is mostly breading and the Cole slaw was definitely old. Definitely could have been better

I ordered the filet medium rare and it came out well done. I let the server know and she brought me another steak and I received this.

Server forgot my husband's water and didn't check back on our coffee. My crab soup was lukewarm and a little salty. We asked for crispy fries but they were not. Everything else was nice. The menu has some very tempting items.

My first and only experience at The Restaurant at Smithfield Station was less than satisfactory. My wife and I were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and wanted to try somewhere new to us in the area. From the beginning when they said it would be a 30-45 minute wait (which is normal for a good restaurant) but we waited over an hour to be seated. Then after being sat, we were not spoken to for another 15 minutes, no water, no menus, it was not a good impression. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt as they had a wedding party present which would understandably slow down service. But, the food point blank sucked. We had the crab dip (cold), an apple butter old fashioned (ice melted and tasted like water) and a bone-in ribeye steak that had a) no bone for a bone in ribeye b) no seasoning and c) no Demi glaze. My wifeâs drink was good but her Norfolk Combo (which was supposed to have scallops) did not in fact have scallops (apparently this was something the restaurant was out of and knew they were out of but we were never told. Donât worry though as they still made sure to charge us for something we didnât get). I paid a lot for a meal that wasnât really edible. The GM was nice enough. He may be the bright spot of this place. He was running around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to serve food, solve other problems, and convince people to come back as we were not the only people having problems tonight. He altered our bill to omit the crab dip and the drink, but we wonât be returning. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. Like for example any of the other restaurants that this group runs that we have been to. (Decoys, Vintage Tavern, Riverstone Chophouse, The Surry Seafood Co.). Just donât go to this one, ever.
