My wife and I and her family used to go to this South Boston Virginia Applebees once a month. Its getting bad. They are so careless.... its nuts how careless they are. They often give you the wrong dressing or the wrong entree....or they forget stuff. I called in a order by phone April 17th around 2-3 pm. When i get there, they could not locate my order or find anything about my order. The manager was clueless and said they couldnt locate my order either. So the order was just lost or wasnt even entered into the system...i went hungry. I was also addressed as "buddy" which i dislike...One time my wifes sis went by here to eat alone. She got a alcoholic beverage but they put a water on her check! If she wasnt honest, she could have had a free drink! The manager told her messing up checks happens more frequently than they would like to admit.... wow. They need to stop being so careless. Btw, I try to send in a "contact us" form on the Applebees website and everytime it says my session is expired. I give up...ill just let the world know about this place.

While going through South Boston, VA, I made the decision to have a quick supper at this Applebees. My server took around fifteen minutes to come get my drink order, even though I was seated right away. On the positive side, I suppose that gives someone plenty of time to peruse the menu, but it really shouldn’t take fifteen minutes to take a drink order. I ordered a shark bowl. After another fifteen minutes of waiting, I was given something different. I was given the Hawaiian ice tea, not the shark bowl. I was unable to inform the waitress that she had brought me the incorrect drink because she dropped it off so fast. When she returned after ten or so minutes, I informed her the drink was wrong. She then starts to dispute with me vehemently, saying it is the shark bowl, they just left out the shark gummy. I know what the drink looks like.. shark bowls are completely blue, but this drink contained yellow. She argued with me a few minutes before reluctantly taking it back. She was whispering something about a five-person table, saying stuff like, “he’s going to put me behind” and “I need to get their orders.” I guess the five-person table was more significant than me, the lone man!! By now, I had been in the establishment for more than thirty minutes! She eventually brings my shark bowl after another fifteen minutes, but not before arguing. “What you had tastes just like a shark bowl, I could have just brought you the shark gummy,” she continued to try to argue with me. I decided to order a burger despite that. The burger took twenty minutes to arrive, and it wasn’t too good.. the bun was kind of hard, indicating that it was getting stale. I most likely won’t go back to the Applebee’s in South Bostno. Waitress needs training.. fighting with me tooth and nail over my drink, that’s unnecessary. Rude. It was time for me to get up and go.. I should’ve!

Ordered 2 for 25. Ask for the cheeseburger with fries to eat in and for the chicken strps with fries when I leave togo.The burger was good and hot but when I decided to leave, about 2 hours after eating and watching the masters highlights at the bar. They brought out a soggy, greasy warm fries and chicken strips that had been sitting under a head lamp for two hours. Not really eatable. When someone asks for a Togo order after they eat. Don't cook it rite away and leave it sitting under a heat lamp for 2 hours. ? disgusting.

We both ordered steak. I have never been served a worse steak in 74 years! I told our waitress how tough the steak was. She took it back and another steak was prepared. The cook brought it out and said she tempted it to make sure it was properly cooked. I told her it was cooked perfectly, but was so tough we could not eat them. She smiled and walked off. We brought the entire steaks home in a carry out box to feed to our dog. They were so tough they were literally inedible. We raise beef and I can't imagine what could be done to meat to produce that quality. It was cooked medium rare to order. Our waitress was great. Needless to say we willnot be dining with Applebee's in South Boston again. We have dined at Applebee's in South Hill and our food was very good. I would think the same vendors are used, but never have we gotten such low quality beef before. Maybe you should do quality checks on your foods and change vendors. Without some changes I quality, I feel your business will take a big hit.

Got the 12 Oz ribeye. It was cut too thin and way over cooked equals Tough. I ate it after they cut the price. Steaks are precut. . best they could do. They said the meat is not tough sometime. If it wasn't overcooked, it would have been ok. SHAME. USED TO HAVE GREAT STEAKS.

I will start this review by saying our server, Quenterra, was amazing, however I didn’t like how the hostess was seating people. Now granted I’m not sure how it is other times of the day and when it’s busiest. When we walked in we were greeted and seated near the bar (we’re people of color) as other non people of color walked in and were seated they were seated away from the bar and in the quieter part of the restaurant. As more people of color walked in they were seated near us at the bar where it was louder and busy. As I’ve stated before I’m not sure if this is a normal occurrence or if it just happened to be tonight but I do know that I will not be returning.

Walked in with many open tables and gentleman host walked by us and one other couple 5 minutes later and said it would be a 15 minute wait and then “probably” an additional 30 minutes before being waited on by someone. Applebees is definitely not what it used to be unfortunately.
