Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday evening. Friendly staff and waitress. Excellent salad bar! I had the chicken stir fry. A little heavy on the green peppers, but good. My husband had the garlic shrimp and he said it was tasty. A bit pricey for the portions. Would probably not try again due to price.

Always the best meal! One of our go to places to eat when visiting south Boston, been coming for a couple years, always consistent, best kept secret - and they have the best salad bar!

Reserved a certain space last year (Dec 2024) for a get together this year. Dec. 2, 2025.
I sometimes have to use a scooter chair instead of being able to walk. Thankfully this year, I was able to walk.
Acting manager/ hostess (whatever her title is) called me on the day of our party, to confirm we were still coming. That's all she asked. I confirmed. In 2-1/2 hours, when we showed up, we found out that she had given our room away. And moved us to the smaller, cramped room, since we had enough people to fill it up. We were not there to just eat. This was our annual Christmas party.
We play a game with the gifts and needed room to easily access the Christmas tree. We are a group of older ladies and some of us have mobility issues. Due to this, it was hard to play our game, and to get decent pictures. Everything was cramped. We had to play over dirty dishes.
I was highly upset that we got bumped. What good is a reservation if they're going to ignore.
I understand this group was bigger than ours, but they had just contacted the restaurant on that day, and my reservation was done a year ago. I'm sorry, but they shouldn't have waited until the day of their getting together, to contact the restaurant.
I understand that the restaurant didn't want to lose that income, but it wasn't right.
Had the manager/hostess told me the issue and asked could we switch rooms when she called to confirm we were coming, the situation would have been somewhat understood, but to just treat us as an afterthought, made me mad.
The waitresses were the ones who dealt with us and told us all of this as the manager/hostess wasn't even at the restaurant. She also claimed to the hoatess/waitress that she tried to call me to apologize. But she said when she got me, I told her our party was not that night, but the nest week. So who knows who she called, but it wasn't me. She did not call me and 10 days later, I still haven't heard from her.
We had our get together in the cramped room. We made do playing our game with the gifts, in a non-traditional way. We got terrible pictures, and not near as many pictures.
The waitresses were wonderful, and very helpful. They were attentative and friendly. They were still treated with all the respect they deserve.
The food was excellent and we all were served very close in time with each other, so we all got to eat together.
We have had our Christmas party, at this restaurant, in the same room, for the last 6 years. At the end of the current party, we have always booked for the next year. This time, we didn't book for next year, and at this point, I'm not sure we will.

It is a lovely hidden gem in South Boston. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We all had leftovers due to the nice size portions. The included salad bar is a great touch! The only complaint I had was the desserts. We were celebrating a birthday so they bought out ice cream with chocolate cake but I also ordered strawberry crunch cake. Both tasted old and dry and the ice cream was a little freezer burnt. Overall the service and our meals were great! Will come again

Except the main course. Martini was perfect, glass of white wine was generous. French fries were excellent. But if you're looking for nice, plump fried oysters, go elsewhere.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant, and will definitely be going back. Our food and service was excellent.

Nice people, decent food, run down facility. Town doesn't support them enough to keep the place top notch. Sad to see in a town that doesn't have many choices other than fast food chains.

The food was delicious, and I loved the items on the menu.
Our server was hilarious 😂 and loved her personality.
I did not give the atmosphere 5 stars because it was hot.

Four Oaks catered our wedding and did a wonderful job at a very reasonable price. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests. The service was equally impressive with everything running smoothly and the staff being friendly and professional. We could not be happier with how it all turned out. Highly recommend them for any event!
