The Backyard Brews & Bites offers an excellent selection of beers and sandwiches in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The interior and backyard seating areas are attractive, with a clean-cut "good old boy" ambiance. Friendly staff provide great service, and the restaurant is conveniently located between Richmond and Durham, making it a great stop for travelers. Customers enjoy the atmosphere, which is kid-friendly during the afternoons, and the restaurant is accessible, although the ramp is quite steep.
Guests have praised the Giardino sandwich as one of the best, even better than those found in New Orleans. The wings are a popular choice, especially on Wednesdays when they are only $1 each; many consider them the best in the area. The soft pretzels are also a hit, crunchy and soft with plenty of cheese. While some find the prices a bit steep, the live entertainment most nights seems to enhance the overall experience. Overall, many customers express their desire to return for more great food and fun.
