“Sumac was fantastic. Fine-dining quality with a chill relaxed atmosphere.

Our group ordered the tasting menu and everything was delectable. I was especially impressed by the quality considering that the menu changes every few weeks. There are plenty of Michelin-starred places that keep the same tasting menu for months and still have duds.

I don’t think Sumac is going to be for everyone. If you go in expecting something like a brewery food truck you’re gonna be disappointed: the dishes here are modestly-sized, delicately-plated, and have a lot of consideration put into each of them. If you’re starving and want a giant plate of nachos, this isn’t gonna be the spot.

For me though, I can think of few things better than relaxing in the foothills of the Appalachians while eating delicious food off paper plates. What a memorably great experience!“
