Copper Fox Distillery Sperryville

Peaceful location to enjoy good spirits and cocktails

Had a 1920s factory style vibe to it. Enjoyed a flight for $10. The whiskey sour was really good as well as the lemon drop. Ended up grabbing a bottle of rye for the trip home. Would do again. I like the fact it's in Virginia and not too far away. The meat and cheese's tray was a nice touch. Tasty as well.

This place is absolute hidden gem. We stopped by after the hikes in Shenandoah National Park. Super unique place with the stream of its backyard. We ordered a whiskey flight of 4 and the Whiskey Sour, I personally love the whiskey sour very much and very relaxing and refreshing experience.

Had an awesome time at the Sperryville location. I met the owner Rick and enjoyed everything I tasted.

Great cocktails with a fun, rustic, indoors space and cute river running through the back. Definitely worth a visit.

Great cocktails, amazing space (inside and outside), and very friendly and attentive staff. HIGHLY recommend! They are also very dog-friendly inside and outside!

Great stop if you are out exploring near Shenandoah NP like we were. The ambiance is fantastic, outdoor seating is superb, and the whiskey and cocktails are great. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Recommend a stop-in if you are nearby.

Stunning spot, friendly service, and yummy drinks!

If you’re coming to Shenandoah, Luray, or anywhere close, make Copper Fox a must do visit. We started with the tour, which was both informative and entertaining, and then enjoyed a rest by the water. The ambiance inside the distillery is casual and fun, plenty of seating to relax and enjoy a drink, or on a nice day, sit outside. The service was excellent. As for the whisk(e)y, top notch. Even if you’re not a fan, the enjoyment of sampling a flight and comparing notes and differences between them is a fun time. Their charcuterie board was excellent and a great way to slow down the flight and cocktails and enjoy a moment of peace outside.

Sperryville and Luray make for an incredible weekend getaway for DC-area visitors. There is so much to see and do in both towns, plus the National Park. Copper Fox Distillery is (I believe) the second-oldest in Sperryville/Luray, after River Hill outside Luray, but before Blue Shepherd in the town of Luray. The prices of the bottles at Copper Fox are a bit more compared to River Hill, but the experience at Copper Fox is better. (River Hill has yet to offer custom cocktails or sit-down flights of their spirits). The vibe in Copper Fox is just wonderful - you are greeted by a staff member (and usually a cat named Midnight) as you enter. The inside is exactly what you'd expect from a distillery, complete with a gas fireplace. You can order a flight of their whiskey offerings and/or a cocktail. The other two distilleries offer other options besides whiskey but Copper Fox is whiskey focused. It is a must-visit if you travel to or through Sperryville. The tour is great too. The family who owns this place are hospitable and entertaining.
