A must if you’re in the area. The specials with local, seasonal ingredients are always great. The dough is outstanding. A local treasure!

Absolutely fantastic pizza. We got four eight inch pizzas to share. The Hog in the Hive was a standout, with a really tasty sauce. The Bianco, herb and Supreme were also tasty.

I gave the food 5 stars even though we never ate here. 1 star review due to being made to wait for a table even though a group of 3 came in about 10 minutes after us and were seated right away. I guess because there were only 2 of us, they wouldn't sit us at a 4 top table.
Should be first come, first served excepting reservations, which the group of 3 didn't have.
Terrible service. My aunt and I had wanted to try it here for over a year.
Definitely won't try it now.

Super cute and cozy little restaurant!! Located just a ~30-minute drive away from the main entrance to Shenandoah National Park, Rappahannock Pizza Kitchen is a great pitstop right before (or after) a good hike. The wooden rafters and log-cabin-esque walls give the entire place a rustic, cozy vibe, and they share the space with a little convenience store that's perfect for any last-minute necessities or picnic supplies.
The wood-fired pizza is lovely, with a not-too-thick-not-too-thin and slightly charred crust, a generous helping of sauce, and a solid layer of cheese / whatever toppings you request. They do have a few sauceless pizzas, so read the menu carefully before you order! The staff is super friendly and will probably warn you, but still worth taking a look. I typically order their classic margherita, which is delightful -- the pop of freshness from the basil really elevates the overall pizza. You can occasionally get unlucky and get an overcooked pizza, which happened during my second visit here; the crust was a bit too dry and overly charred, but the pizza was still tasty. My pizza during my last visit was totally fine, as were all the pizzas I saw around us during this lunch-time stop, so I assume it was a one-off fluke.
Their starters are also all quite tasty! I've tried their burrata and brussels sprouts, both of which are delightful. The burrata comes with a huge serving of hot, melty burrata and delicious tomato mixture. It's paired with their bread, which is soft and pillowy on the inside, with a lovely charred exterior that holds up well to the cheese. It does feel a little bit silly to get bread and cheese right before eating more pizza (aka bread and cheese), but it's very good and absolutely worth a try. The sprouts are also tasty -- I love a good warm salad, and it has a great sweet and savory flavour profile from the balsamic glaze and grated parmesan. The toasted almonds are also a wonderful added crunch! I did find some of the brussels sprouts a little bit too big, which meant a few were a tiny bit undercooked in the center and hard to eat (although I also have a small mouth, so it could be a me problem), but the overall dish was still great!

3rd or 4th visit. Confusion right off the bat as to what’s available if main dining area full.
Host suggested sitting in adjacent bar room, that “offers full menu”. Not the case.
Bar server failed to greet… offered no area for seating.
We seated ourselves. Eventually ordered food. Chicken breast w Alfredo and salad. 2 beers.
30 mins? (Generous) no service. Asked server. Order apparently lost.
Order comes out. Salad ok, chicken dry with mayybe a cup of noodles. This entree was @ 20$.
@ 90$ for salad, chicken alffredo, and couple beers.

I never leave reviews, but I feel the need to warn others that this restaurant is very overpriced for the quality of food. It feels like a restaurant you would see on Kitchen Nightmares where the interior is redone to be trendy, but the food still tastes like it's made by someone who's never heard of salt. We ordered the bread and oil which was basically just burnt focaccia croutons with a bowl of olive oil. We also got the Hog in the Hive pizza. The toppings were very good but the crust was also burnt, chewy, and lacking seasoning. Top all that off with 2 drinks and a server who forgot to put our order in, and we spent $70 to wait 45 minutes for subpar food. After a long morning on the trail, cannot recommend less.

Soooo good. Love the arrabiata pasta!!! Pizza was bomb, we ordered the rpk pepperoni and the only thing I wanted was a little more pepperoni and onions, still so good though. Definitely try a side of the rpk pesto!!! Soooo good. Also the country store has so much to offer. Will definitely return!!!
