This has to be the best Afghan restaurant in Northern Va period. Excellent food that just fills you up with such satisfaction. Been here several times and I feel this place is a best kept secret. I highly recommend the kabobs, lamb dish, and their spinach side dish which is amazing. They also serve a very yummy Afghan style tea that goes great with the food. You can always smell the spices and delicious food coming from the kitchen while surrounded with a warm, comfortable vibe....
Loved the food! Dumplings were flavorful, eggplant appetizer was delicious. We got bread stuffed with leak and potato which was also tasty. The sweet carrot pilau with lamb was fabulous and came with a great spinach on the side. The mixed grill kabobs were also great... tender chicken and well seasoned ground beef. Plenty of tasty bread was served alongside our dishes so we left very full! The only thing I would not order again was a side dish that seemed to be lentil and...
Oh my goodness… We just found our FAVORITE Afghan restaurant in the Greater Washington DC area! Don’t let the name fool you: Afghan Kabob has a much more varied and subtle menu than just kabobs… though those are choice and juicy, especially the lamb. In short, this was the best Mantu, Aushak, and Kadu (Pumpkin) I have ever had, anywhere… hands down. Run, don’t walk, to Afghan Kabob Restaurant in Springfield, Virginia.
