The Swiss Bakery and Pastry Shop

All around, the food is delicious and high quality, baked goods and cafe menu alike. However, a significant number of counter staff are rude and/or not very competent.

Once-in-a-lifetime visit to a Swiss bakery? Yes, I did it!

The Cremeschnitte? Legitimately excellent. Light, creamy, perfectly balanced — exactly the kind of thing that makes you briefly consider moving closer.

Now, a gentle cultural observation: when you grow up with very precise Swiss terminology for pastries, you naturally assume the rest of the world operates under the same linguistic treaty. It does not.

Lesson learned: adaptation is everything.

And the prices? Admirably authentic. Switzerland-level authentic. The full immersive experience, including that familiar “ah yes, this feels like home” moment at the register.

No one helped us get our pastry order while we were in line. When we got to the front of the line and tried to order our breakfast, we were sent to the back of the line to order our pastry order and to try and order our breakfast again. We left. It is ridiculous.

Small but cute. Very friendly employees and very friendly environment, the day we went all the customers were smiling and pleasant. If I'm back in the area I will definitely go back.

We bought a jumbo pretzel and asked for mustard other than the packs on the condiment table. We were offered a small soufflé cup each of sweet and savory mustard. Both delicious!
And we bought cup of the most delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream on top that we’ve ever had!

Great place to buy Swiss wines...cheeses...meats and baked goods...completely outfitted our recent Raclette party and all the food was fantastic!

Ordered some traditional Swiss cookies online from here and oh my god!!! They were JUST like the ones my mom makes! It was magical. Well packaged and high quality- not a single broken cookie! So grateful for this place even if it’s a thousand miles from home!

Their desserts are SO GOOD! They're pricier than some other cafes in the area, but I think it's worth it. They have a lot of European products for sale and a cozy dining area, as well as outdoor seating. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are all friendly.

Good baked goods. Wide variety of European foods and beverages.

I usually buy Caotina hot chocolate and Kambly assorted biscuits ,which are really good and are from Switzerland, at this Swiss bakery in Springfield. On December 18, I also bought a chocolate/raspberry Xmas Log which was very nicely decorated. We celebrated a Birthday and early Xmas on December 19. We had the Xmas Log in the afternoon and were very disappointed with the quality. Since nobody wanted to eat it after one bite, I ended up throwing the rest in the trash. I decided to call the bakery asking that a manager return my call. Well, a few days later, I received a call back from Natalie, who was very polite. We had a chat and the issue was resolved to my satisfaction.

Caramel latte had no caramel croissant tasted like a day old, red velvet cupcake. It tasted like it was bought from the store, not freshly made overall felt like I went to a grocery store.

Lovely bakery and café. Always beautiful and delicious items. Love the Berner Rosti and their hot chocolate. Cookies, Zopf bread, and candy are great, too.
