the food was pretty good. got the beef ribs which was a hearty serving. i also enjoyed the BBQ beans and french fries. it's a good local alternative to bigger bbq chains in the area. they also offer a 10% military discount

Long time Big Bad W customer, while being understanding of COVID, this place isn't nearly what it was a year ago. The customer service has went down hill, the timeliness is non existent. I was told the order would be ready in 30 minutes, showed up 10 minutes past the time it was supposed to be ready to wait another 30 minutes for my food to be bagged. Front office was overwhelmed by multiple tasks ultimately leaving the in-person customer to wait on all other tasks first. Just a sad experience to say the least.

Ribs were great! I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Cole slaw was good, mac & cheese was OK, but the ribs more than made up for it.
Best BBQ restaurant in Stafford, VA! I highly recommend this place! The brisket melts in your mouth. The fries are perfectly seasoned. The coleslaw is homemade. I can't say enough good things about Big Bad W Pit BBQ. Try this place today. Yum!

3.5 Stars - rounded up to 4 - Big Bad W BBQ deserves high praise for their ribs with a nice smoke ring, balanced flavor profile, and a perfect pull off but not fall off the bone texture. For 2 of the sides the corn bread was good and the black eyed peas were flavorful but a touch over cooked. 1.5 stars were lost for the wait time - 15 minutes was estimated by the attendant and it ended up being 35, there throughput was not meeting demand, a demand which did not appear overwhelming to this untrained eye - the extra bbq sauces included were woefully inadequate for the amount of food purchased and the mild sauce had an overly Smokey flavor reminiscent of liquid smoke - the smoked whole chicken wings were bursting with flavor but very dry, especially for dark meat - the second side , Mac and cheese was salty and the noodles were severely over cooked.

After my 3rd visit, I felt so pulled to share -- this place is a league of its own run by a family with a moving military background told by the articles and awards on the wall. Let alone the BEST overall BBQ meal I've ever had in my life. Chicken, ribs, pork were all so delicious. The BBQ sauce is sweet and smoky, with lots of secondary options. Potato salad PLEASE. Wolf beans super flavorful with chunks of smoked sausage (YUM). Cornbread was just crumbly enough. Sweet potato pie YES. Looking forward to trying more in my time here in town.
