Today, my wife and I visited Pho 72 located at 315 Garrisonville Road, Stafford, VA. As soon as we arrived, we waited about five minutes before a waitress attended to us. Once she took our order, the food came out fairly quickly—within about 10 minutes, which we appreciated.

We ordered a Thai tea (Tra Thai) and noticed that it had a large amount of ice in it, significantly reducing the actual amount of tea in the cup. It felt like the ice was used to fill the cup rather than provide a full serving. I later requested another Thai tea, this time with no ice. The waitress did bring it out as requested, but I was surprised to see a $1.95 charge for “no ice” on my receipt. Charging customers extra for no ice is unreasonable and should be clearly stated on the menu if that’s your policy.

While we were finishing our lunch, we noticed something concerning: a staff member was clearing tables and collecting unused items like the bean sprouts and Thai Basil leaf that come with the pho. At one table, instead of throwing away unused sprouts and Thai Basil leaf left by a previous customer, he placed them at the bottom of his cart. At another table, we saw him throw the leftovers away. This inconsistent handling of potentially reused garnishes is unhygienic and could be a health concern. If you order pho and your sprouts or Thai Basil leaf aren’t cold or fresh, you may want to request a new set—just to be safe.

Our total bill was $58, and again, I found the $1.95 charge for no ice on the tea to be disappointing. That fee should not be passed on to the customer, especially when it’s a basic preference.

Unfortunately, due to these experiences, I don’t plan to return to this location. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements in both customer service and food handling practices.

Food is ok, convenience being close to the 95. Service sucks.

Pho 72 is truly a hidden gem in Stafford! The flavors are rich, balanced, and absolutely satisfying. From the fragrant broth to the fresh herbs and tender noodles — everything comes together beautifully.

If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese pho, this is the place to go. Friendly staff, quick service, and consistently delicious food.

I had a great experience at Pho 72! I ordered the pho combination and a Thai tea, both were delicious. The broth was super flavorful, the portion was huge, and the meat was tender and fresh. The Thai tea was the perfect amount of sweetness, not an artificial flavor. Service was really fast, and the prices were very reasonable for how much food you get. I’ll definitely be coming back!

PHO 72 is our go to and absolute favorite spot for pho and fried rice. Their broth is flavorful, rich, and delicious. The noodles are cooked just right, not crushed, the beef is crunchy but not chewy, and the accompaniments eg lemon, basil and bean sprouts makes it just right. Their fried rice - shrimp fried rice is our favorite, has that golden, crispy perfection. The owners, workers are very nice, friendly and welcoming. ♥️ PHO 72, thank you always for a satisfying and flavorful meal experience! Brinda and Terry

I ordered food at this restaurant—specifically, the sizzling steak and egg—because I don’t eat pork, and I was confident there was no pork listed on the menu. However, after the food was served, I discovered that it included pork meatballs. When I raised the issue, the owner casually told me not to eat the pork, explaining that they couldn’t replace food that had already been cooked. I am very disappointed and will never come back again

Pho broth was average at best; the fresh spring rolls were flavorless. It tasted like the meat was not marinated at all.

The food here is pretty good. We usually get the Steak and Brisket Pho with Spring and Crispy Rolls as appetizers. They can get busy in a hurry. You will have to flag someone down in order to get refills or if you have an issue however, as they will rarely make rounds to check on customers. It's really not to that big an issue, and I highly recommend this place as it can be hard to find good pho.

I love Vietnamese restaurants and have visited many. BUT! … I must admit, this is the absolute best Pho I have ever had! The flavor is simply amazing. I’ve been coming here ever since Ryan and his family opened this business. This was definitely what Stafford was missing for far too long! Great service, a comfortable environment, and absolutely the best flavors!
