I had an excellent experience at Sultan Kabob in Stafford, VA. I ordered the lamb with fresh naan, and it did not disappoint. The lamb was incredibly flavorful and perfectly seasoned—tender with just the right amount of spice. The fresh naan had a wonderful texture and complemented both the lamb and hummus beautifully. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. My only minor critique is that I wish the lamb portion was a bit more generous—but that just goes to show how good it was! I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Mediterranean food.

From the moment we walked into Sultan Restaurant, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that set the tone for a fantastic meal. The décor strikes a perfect balance between traditional elegance and modern comfort, making it ideal for both intimate dinners and group gatherings.
The food was absolutely exceptional. Every dish—from the freshly baked bread to the grilled meats and flavorful mezzes—was prepared with care and authentic taste. The lamb kebab was perfectly cooked and tender, while the hummus and baba ghanoush were among the best I’ve ever had. Portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful without being overdone.
Service was another highlight. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. Our server took the time to explain a few house specialties and offered thoughtful recommendations that made our experience even better.
To top it all off, the Turkish tea and baklava at the end were the perfect finish to a memorable meal.
Whether you’re a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or simply looking to try something new, Sultan Restaurant is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

I’m not too fond of the bland flavors of Afghan and Persian style kabob houses, which are the majority of the places that call themselves “Kabob” on the sign out front, but recently came here to give them a try. I prefer more robust flavors from Indian and specifically Pakistani food over the “salt & pepper” style seasoning (with turmeric for color) of Afghan food.

I tried what they call their Shami kabob, which is actually a seekh kabob. I got a side of chick peas with it. The flavor of the kabob was actually quite nice (for Afghan food). The chick peas were as basic as I would expect from this style of food. Their potatoes looked great, but unfortunately were extremely bland and unflavored. Their naan was pretty good and perfectly baked, so it was slightly crusty while flexible enough to eat with and still flavorful.

My preference if for spicier food, so I asked for an extra spicy green sauce. Fortunately, my dish came with their white sauce too. The white sauce had an incredible flavor! So much more flavor than the green sauce, even though the green sauce had slight spice, mostly from the vinegar in it.

Their rice looked great and had the appropriate amount of seasoning and flavor you’d expect, regardless of style of Middle Eastern food you’re enjoying.

Service was excellent! They were very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and even checked on us. The place was pretty clean for a kabob joint as well. Overall, it was a decent visit, but unfortunately for me, it left me wanting more
more spice and depth of flavor. But for the average American, you’d probably really enjoy this place.

Everything is made to order. Had the Shami Kabobs with spinach side. Awesome! Naan was whole wheat, delicious! Best mango lassi I've ever had. Husband and I ordered same thing and shared the lassi.

Amazing people and delicious food. Definitely recommend.

Some of the best food around is usually tucked away in some unassuming spot, and this place is a classic example. The service was excellent, the staff was incredibly accommodating, polite and kind, and the food was outstanding. Food portions are large, and the sides are delicious. Will be visiting this place again.

I had an amazing experience at Sultan Kabob! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—especially the chicken kabob and lamb. The portions were generous, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the best Afghan/Middle Eastern spots in the area. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic kabob and rice dishes!

Excellent food and service.

We ate here last night for the first time, but it definitely won’t be our last! We went with friends so we were able to try a variety of things on the menu. And honestly, everything was delicious. I highly recommend either the lamb or the chicken kebab. The fresh bake naan was huge! The eggplant was my favorite side dish. Service was friendly and the dining room was small, but clean.
Only downside was that there are no restrooms.
