Historic building with undeniable atmosphere. Off the beaten path in a small town, and closer than expected, especially taking back roads for the Virginia beauty. Staff companionable and sensitive to your needs and meals had generous portions. I use the Lafeyette Inn for special occasions or “just to get out”. Aged boxwoods surrounding parking and path to the entrance , and many kitty cats holding court or napping.
Hubby and I stayed in the Shenandoah Valley for our anniversary weekend. Wanting to go out somewhere for dinner (we were not interested in grilling at our cabin), we looked up local places and Lafayette Inn and Restaurant came up as a solid suggestion. We enjoyed the service, specials available that night, and the quiet relaxed atmosphere. Next time we're in Stanardsville, we'll be back!
I had a wonderful stay at the Lafayette Inn! The hotel and room had the historic charm I wanted, the breakfasts were delicious (the french toast cannot be missed!), Alan and Kaye were friendly hosts, and the location was very convenient for my adventures in Shenandoah National Park. If I'm ever in the area again, I will be sure to stay here!
