Katie and Emilie are always so on point for service and my orders. I really appreciate the experience every time Iโm in. The food , as always, is top notch!
This place is superb. I have never had a bad meal here & Iโve had my fair share. The sweet potato & black bean is always my go to, the way they dice the sweet potatoes is 10/10 in my book. The staff are always friendly but Katie is always the standout. Sheโs so attentive and always has a smile on her face and is warm & welcoming. Please please please start a rewards program!! ๐ค๐ผ

Ever since they opened, Chicano Boy has been one of the best restaurants in downtown Staunton and arguably the best Mexican restaurant in the Shenandoah Valley. I would recommend a particular dish, but every meal I've gotten here has been great. In addition to the food itself, their salsas are fantastic.
And they're also great for people with allergies to gluten and dairy.
Seriously can't recommend this place enough.
Dietary restrictions: My wife has allergies to gluten and dairy, and we try to stop here anytime we're in Staunton. Their food is that good and it works that well with those allergies. If ordering online, you can note allergies and remove things like cheese as necessary, and if in the restaurant, just let them know. We've never had any issues with cross-contamination.

Food was really tasty and flavorful! Tasted authentic which is always a plus. Had the seasonal achiote lime chicken taco special.
Kid-friendliness: I saw a kids menu that looked reasonable.

Very good. I had three pork tacos with the mild salsa on corn. Full of flavor! Also ordered the Chicano boy taters and Americana nachos, all were delicious. Salsa is fresh tasting, queso was liquid gold, and the service was perfect. Attentive and helpful. All in allโฆ I canโt wait to go back.
Reminded me of the food truck I worked this summerโฆ like a little piece of memory lane.
Parking: Connected to a small shopping center.

Clean and cute restaurant with good food and friendly staff. Lots of salsa to choose from and all delicious. The pork belly taco was the highlight of our meal. We did not enjoy the taters- wish they were tater tots instead of fried potatoes as they were a bit bland.

December 13, 2024 - Looking for โ Stepped Upโ Mexico food . . . Chef Justin streamlined the choices to Tacos & Burritos with FIXINS !
Itโs a small restaurant with 7 to 10 tables lined up under a giant mural of a lovely Senorita on the wall! You can see the tight kitchen area, but the cooks work quickly to provide fast service.
My wife and I ordered chips & salsa at the counter, with Katie (delightful & helpful). Then sat down to look over the menu, no rush at 4 pm , an early dinner for us. Then Josie , another server, brought over our Negro Modelo beers. No other diners, we learned from Katie & Josie that Chef Justin has 2 locations ( Staunton & North Chesterfield) of Chicano Boy Restaurants.
Katie popped over with a small free sample of Green Salsa ! ( Thank you ๐๐๐ผ) My wife ordered 3 Tacos . . . Americano style, Beef , and Chicken ! I ordered the Burrito with Pork!
Again, not many people in the restaurant at 4:30 pm now. Josie came over to check on us, as she cleared some of our glasses , plates . . . We shared our experiences in meeting Chef Justin at Pizza Luca ! ( Chef Justin owns both establishments!)
Our meal is delivered, looks great , especially the art-like appearance of the Tacos! ( check photo) ๐. My wife loved both the Americano & Chicken tacos! ( Had to take the 3rd taco home, too full) Wow, my Burrito was the best I ever tried! I added red salsa with medium heat, perfectly on top for a Zesty Zing! ๐๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
As we approached 5 pm, folks started lining up at the front counter, with Josie ! Katie asked about trying their homemade chocolate cake, but we said , โ Weโre fullโ , but my wife loves chocolate cake. As our table was cleared, and folks filled the tables around us, Katie shows up with our bill and a take home container of their Chocolate Cake ( free)! ๐๐๐ผโค๏ธ
What a nice Mexican meal, and great service at The Chicano Boy in Staunton!
BTW . . . As we watched a Christmas movie at home, we shared that moist, delicious chocolate cake ! Another winner for Chef Justin ! Thank you, Katie & Josie ๐๐๐ผ you both work very well together!
Suggestion: Someday, if Chef Justin opens a top tier Spanish Restaurant that serves elegant Spanish dishes for those special full meal occasions . . . Like Anniversaries, Holidays, Class Reunions , Promotions, and other Celebrations. . . please let me know!
Hard to find a top tier Spanish Restaurant?
