“We just had an excellent dinning experience for our family Christmas dinner. Staunton was a greet meeting spot for our family to all gather. It was all perfectly done. Even though we had some guests show up late the staff was super accommodating and attentive. The food was excellent. I had the best short rib dish I have ever had. The salmon was cooked perfectly with a very delightful cream sauce. The mushroom ravioli was also excellent. All portions were generous but also balanced. The service was great all the staff was so pleasant and everyone seems to enjoy what they were doing. The wine was excellent and the bar made excellent classic cocktails including a manhattan. Everyone should try Queen City bistro! I can’t wait to come back!”

“Having our annual Dolled for Dinner at Chop House Tavern tonight and it was absolutely amazing! Food: fabulous! Service: spectacular! Angela was awesome. So were the mashed potatoes, stuffed meatloaf, asparagus, and chocolate cake. I'd never had a ginger bread martini before, but I know I want to have another one at your restaurant. And I only live a frw blocks away so this may be my new happy hour spot. Tonight was our first time there but we will definitely be back. 5/5 stars.”

“10 out of 10 the best pastries!!! Came across this business on FB a few days before a field trip to Staunton, VA for my daughter. Field trip day was Thursday and Giancarlo is only open for retail hours on Friday’s and Saturday’s. I was so bummed, but I sent a message to see if they would let me make a special order for Thursday pick up, and they did!!! We ordered three tarts. A chocolate raspberry, a chocolate espresso and a lemon. AMAZING!!! Giancarlo uses the most delicious chocolate I have ever tasted! And the lemon was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. This bakery is a MUST visit!”

“My husband and I were in town for the Virginia Scenic Railway and stopped at Kathy’s before our trip. The food was delicious, and the bread pudding was absolutely incredible. What truly made our visit unforgettable was Debbie, our waitress. She was so genuinely kind and warm that she literally brought me to tears. She shared that she works part-time for her customers and said that had she already been retired, she would never have met my husband and me. That really touched my heart. We left saying we would gladly make the three-hour drive back and we would absolutely return to Kathy’s. It wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience we won’t forget.”

“My first visit to Marino’s since the renovation! Boy was I surprised! The owners have done a fantastic job with the decor ! The bar area is very inviting and the outdoor seating area is spacious with comfortable chairs and couches . I was there for a Friday night jam session and I wasn’t disappointed. A wonderful feeling to relax to live bluegrass music enjoying Marino’s signature hamburger with sweet potato fries! I also ordered the pimento cheese spread as an appetizer….which was the best! The staff were very personable and made me feel welcomed . I would definitely stop by Marino’s for the food and entertainment .. you will not be disappointed.”

“We ordered 150 mini cupcakes for my MIL's 90th bday party and they were a HIT!!! Everyone raved at the flavor combinations. No one could agree on their favorite: the red velvet, the mint chocolate, the raspberry, the cookies n cream, lemon, and more! What people loved most is that the icing wasn't too sweet so people could try multiple flavors. We picked up friday for a the saturday party and they were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!”

“Let us speak, for a moment, about Wright Dairy Rite… First—an incident so deeply disturbing it is difficult to recount. The owner (JIM) of the establishment allegedly behaved in a profoundly inappropriate and predatory manner toward an underaged boy while the child was working at the dish station. During this encounter, he uttered the unsettling remark, “I like the way you wash those dishes.” The gravity of such conduct cannot be overstated. The boy’s father was reportedly informed, yet no meaningful action followed. One cannot help but question how such silence could persist—whether through negligence, fear, or something more insidious. Second—the general manager (Jamie) presents a deeply troubling presence within the workplace. Described as erratic and morally compromised, this individual has allegedly exhibited a pattern of sexualizing and making inappropriate remarks about underaged girls working in front-facing roles. It raises a distressing question: are these young employees being hired for reasons beyond professionalism? Furthermore, there are claims of substance abuse by the GM, specifically involving meth, (information known by) reportedly supplied by a former employee during work hours. While not directly witnessed, the manager’s behavior is said to reflect the instability and agitation often associated with such use. Third—another incident reveals an atmosphere not only toxic but overtly hostile. A line cook supervisor, known as “Chancellor,” who is reportedly a convicted offender, ( what a surprise ) is said to have repeatedly used racial slurs in a demeaning and aggressive manner. These remarks were allegedly directed at one of the very few Black employees, including commands such as “get down on the ground n-,” followed by the slur. The cruelty and degradation embedded in such language are undeniable. Even more disheartening is the claim that this behavior was reported—yet no consequences were enforced. Once again, the general manager was informed, and once again, nothing changed. Taken together, these accounts paint a picture of a workplace steeped in emotional distress, misconduct, and a profound lack of accountability. To exist in such an environment is not merely difficult—it is psychologically damaging. Something must change, whether through new leadership, external intervention, maybe just after reading this passage, or a long-overdue reckoning within. “China House is our Staunton go-to for Chinese take-out. It's got all the comfort food options we love and it's exactly what I expect from my hometown Chinese food spot. Their online ordering system is easy to use and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes from the time I submitted my order to pick-up. Friendly staff, good food, good value.”

“I absolutely loved this place! Great selection of original hand crafted brews. You absolutely must have a flight (or share a couple of flights among friends) to experience the variety they have.

The barkeep was friendly and knowledgeable. The warehouse space had a lot of ambiance with hand painted murals on the walls.

Milk stout aged on local breakfast blend coffee beans. Aged 10 months on roasted coffee beans.

Soft lactose forward, beautiful smooth coffee mid pallet, no bite finish.

Stargazer black IPA with toasted rye 7.8%

Forward Dark and rich toasted rye flavor
Just a hint of bite at the finish.

Saison 5% Belgian golden ale lightly spiced with ginger, grains of paradise and citrus peel.

I love the area, the history and the museums, but I’ll return just to visit Redbeard Brewing. Loved every single brew I tried. The brew meister(s) are true artisans.”

“I am a trucker and have been to the location in GA, IN, and VA. Every time the food is fresh, delicious, and it's so much healthier than usual truck stop fare. I would love to see Naf Naf expand and be in more locations especially around SW Ohio. I think Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus would all be markets that they would excel at. When it comes to fast casual there really is nothing like it. Dude EVERYTHING is good here! Can't go wrong!”

“Unfortunately lately I have been somewhat disappointed in Cracker Barrel. I used to order a grilled chicken, bacon and cheese on sourdough bread so good! It is no longer on the menu 😢 For awhile they had tator tots as a side for breakfast no long available 😢 they have a broccoli casserole as an up side? I ordered the pot roast bowl and the casserole as my side, when I got my bill I was charged an extra $3.89 cents for the casserole when I asked why I was told it wasn't on of their normal sides so I had to pay extra, I can understand an up charge of maybe a dollar but having to pay for it separately at full price was very upsetting 😡 which actually meant I didn't get what my meal come with another side. The biscuits used to be like an appetizer now if you don't ask you don't get you are not giving an option. They no longer fix omelets for breakfast? I feel they are taking so much of the old fashioned food and your lucky if you get a good waitress but you can see a lot of them standing around starring at the customers? Not one of my favorites anymore 😢”

“The server/order taker was a little robotic but got the job done. The star here is the food and the ammount you are given. We ate off the food for three days. I got hibachi chicken and the wife ordered the soba noodles with chicken. We ordered the crab raggoons, tempora shrimp and drinks. All in all we really liked the food.”

Before getting into the wonderful dining experience that I had at Baja let me just say a few words about this beautiful lady of joy. As she walked towards me, the light and energy around her was so bright I felt that the sun itself was coming to meet me. She greeted me with a warm hug and a smile that lit up the neighborhood! As a soulpreneur/seelsorger I have been with many healing people in many healing spaces and I can promise you that you will have a calming, healing experience in her presence in this space. This seemed to be known by all of the occupants as each person that entered was welcomed unconditionally as family and the atmosphere felt like a loving home. Now to the food...OMG...the food!!! Every single bite was perfection! It is all made from scratch with fresh local ingredients and unique tweaks that cannot be found anywhere else. The flavors are beautifully balanced and decadent. This is not your average Mexican fare. I could eat the homemade guacamole at every meal. I had the falafel tacos...mouthwatering!!! Then...yes...then...even though I was stuffed...I had to try the fish taco...and yes I ate the whole thing because it too delicious! (AND THEY OFFER LIVE MUSIC!!!!) If you are in the Staunton area do not miss a visit to Baja Bean Co and if you are not in the Staunton area....get there! It was a fish, shrimp chicken, and they had everything right the hush puppies were crispy on the outside, soft in the middle big thick pieces of fish and the breading big fat shrimp it was so good I mean they have their their act together and whoever is working, there really does care about their job because you can taste in the food. Everything was fabulous and people should go check it out because I’ve been going there a long time and this is the best meal I’ve ever had from there”
