“We just had an excellent dinning experience for our family Christmas dinner. Staunton was a greet meeting spot for our family to all gather. It was all perfectly done. Even though we had some guests show up late the staff was super accommodating and attentive. The food was excellent. I had the best short rib dish I have ever had. The salmon was cooked perfectly with a very delightful cream sauce. The mushroom ravioli was also excellent. All portions were generous but also balanced. The service was great all the staff was so pleasant and everyone seems to enjoy what they were doing. The wine was excellent and the bar made excellent classic cocktails including a manhattan. Everyone should try Queen City bistro! I can’t wait to come back!”

“Feb. 21, 2026 - Looking for an elegant dining option in Staunton . . . try Chop House Tavern ! 😃👍. My wife & I waited a week after Valentine’s Day rush. . . Combined a wonderful dinner with a play at ShenanArts downtown Staunton.

You’ll probably need reservations! It’s worth it ! Our server Jen “walked us through” cocktails & appetizers. We did mention that we had a show in 2 hours . . . No problem , and not rushed!

We started with an excellent dry red wine , I think from the Barboursville Vineyard. Jen brought over a delightful focaccia bread & butter! Again no rush, we enjoyed a wonderful garden salad with “ the house” vinaigrette dressing! (See photos)

Onto our entrees. . . my ordered a Faroe Island Salmon cooked perfectly!
I almost selected a big ribeye steak, but Jen ( our server) suggested breast duck ! Glad she did, excellent choice with crème fraiche mashed potatoes with a “ house made” Demi-glaze ! So delicious 😃👍!

On our Valentine’s date. . . Glad we saved enough room for the Buttercream Chocolate Cake with mixed berry compote! Fantastic to the last crumb!

Parking: Lots of parking spaces even though it was crowded.

And the chef is appreciated too as the food was first rate.”

“Absolutely love this place. The staff are always kind and very willing to have you try before you pick. The sundaes are great. They make their own ice creams, they always have an oat milk and sorbet offerings. The only thing I can say against them is that they don't have the black forest ice cream on their lineup nearly enough! 😁 It's our favorite but there are many flavors and they're all made very well. You have to go pretty often to make sure you get to try all the different flavors as they rotate. If you love ice cream, you just have to go.”

“10 out of 10 the best pastries!!! Came across this business on FB a few days before a field trip to Staunton, VA for my daughter. Field trip day was Thursday and Giancarlo is only open for retail hours on Friday’s and Saturday’s. I was so bummed, but I sent a message to see if they would let me make a special order for Thursday pick up, and they did!!! We ordered three tarts. A chocolate raspberry, a chocolate espresso and a lemon. AMAZING!!! Giancarlo uses the most delicious chocolate I have ever tasted! And the lemon was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. This bakery is a MUST visit!”

“My husband and I were in town for the Virginia Scenic Railway and stopped at Kathy’s before our trip. The food was delicious, and the bread pudding was absolutely incredible. What truly made our visit unforgettable was Debbie, our waitress. She was so genuinely kind and warm that she literally brought me to tears. She shared that she works part-time for her customers and said that had she already been retired, she would never have met my husband and me. That really touched my heart. We left saying we would gladly make the three-hour drive back and we would absolutely return to Kathy’s. It wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience we won’t forget.”

“My first visit to Marino’s since the renovation! Boy was I surprised! The owners have done a fantastic job with the decor ! The bar area is very inviting and the outdoor seating area is spacious with comfortable chairs and couches . I was there for a Friday night jam session and I wasn’t disappointed. A wonderful feeling to relax to live bluegrass music enjoying Marino’s signature hamburger with sweet potato fries! I also ordered the pimento cheese spread as an appetizer….which was the best! The staff were very personable and made me feel welcomed . I would definitely stop by Marino’s for the food and entertainment .. you will not be disappointed.”

The icing was amazing, the cake tasty and moist, and the mousse filling divine. Everyone at the party complimented me on how good it was. My GF intolerant guests loved the cupcakes. Highly recommend.”

“My husband and I ate at Hometown tonight. It was like sitting down to dinner at home but better. Comfortable, welcoming, genuinely friendly. We opted for the buffet and were not disappointed. The salad bar was fresh with any option I could think of. The entree meats and vegetables on the buffet were superbly seasoned And HOT. Every dish was as if it had just come off the stove, crispy for the things that should be crispy and likewise creamy where it should. The fried chicken and fish were fantastic. The fruits were sweet and tasty. And the peanut butter pie was piled high with yumminess. The entire staff had a great sense of humor. We left wishing we lived close by so we could come more often. You really don’t want to miss eating at this jewel of a restaurant.”

“China House is our Staunton go-to for Chinese take-out. It's got all the comfort food options we love and it's exactly what I expect from my hometown Chinese food spot. Their online ordering system is easy to use and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes from the time I submitted my order to pick-up. Friendly staff, good food, good value.”

“I absolutely loved this place! Great selection of original hand crafted brews. You absolutely must have a flight (or share a couple of flights among friends) to experience the variety they have.

The barkeep was friendly and knowledgeable. The warehouse space had a lot of ambiance with hand painted murals on the walls.

Milk stout aged on local breakfast blend coffee beans. Aged 10 months on roasted coffee beans.

Soft lactose forward, beautiful smooth coffee mid pallet, no bite finish.

Just a hint of bite at the finish.

Saison 5% Belgian golden ale lightly spiced with ginger, grains of paradise and citrus peel.

I love the area, the history and the museums, but I’ll return just to visit Redbeard Brewing. Loved every single brew I tried. The brew meister(s) are true artisans.”

“To be in the middle of a truck stop, this place is delicious! The food was fresh and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. We had never been there before and the employee answered all our questions without rushing us through. She even cooked the falafel when I ordered it so it would be hot. I tried a variety of things and we loved them all. I highly recommend a falafel bowl with couscous and my husband enjoyed two types of hummus with chicken shawarma and steak. *the harissa sauce IS very spicy, like described. The sit down area needed some attention but we still managed to find a clean table. We will be back.”

“Unfortunately lately I have been somewhat disappointed in Cracker Barrel. I used to order a grilled chicken, bacon and cheese on sourdough bread so good! It is no longer on the menu 😢 For awhile they had tator tots as a side for breakfast no long available 😢 they have a broccoli casserole as an up side? I ordered the pot roast bowl and the casserole as my side, when I got my bill I was charged an extra $3.89 cents for the casserole when I asked why I was told it wasn't on of their normal sides so I had to pay extra, I can understand an up charge of maybe a dollar but having to pay for it separately at full price was very upsetting 😡 which actually meant I didn't get what my meal come with another side. The biscuits used to be like an appetizer now if you don't ask you don't get you are not giving an option. They no longer fix omelets for breakfast? I feel they are taking so much of the old fashioned food and your lucky if you get a good waitress but you can see a lot of them standing around starring at the customers? Not one of my favorites anymore 😢”

“The server/order taker was a little robotic but got the job done. The star here is the food and the ammount you are given. We ate off the food for three days. I got hibachi chicken and the wife ordered the soba noodles with chicken. We ordered the crab raggoons, tempora shrimp and drinks. All in all we really liked the food.”

“My lifelong friend/sister introduced me to her friend, Sarah, who owns Baja Bean Co. Before getting into the wonderful dining experience that I had at Baja let me just say a few words about this beautiful lady of joy. As she walked towards me, the light and energy around her was so bright I felt that the sun itself was coming to meet me. She greeted me with a warm hug and a smile that lit up the neighborhood! As a soulpreneur/seelsorger I have been with many healing people in many healing spaces and I can promise you that you will have a calming, healing experience in her presence in this space. This seemed to be known by all of the occupants as each person that entered was welcomed unconditionally as family and the atmosphere felt like a loving home. Now to the food...OMG...the food!!! Every single bite was perfection! It is all made from scratch with fresh local ingredients and unique tweaks that cannot be found anywhere else. The flavors are beautifully balanced and decadent. This is not your average Mexican fare. I could eat the homemade guacamole at every meal. I had the falafel tacos...mouthwatering!!! Then...yes...then...even though I was stuffed...I had to try the fish taco...and yes I ate the whole thing because it too delicious! (AND THEY OFFER LIVE MUSIC!!!!) If you are in the Staunton area do not miss a visit to Baja Bean Co and if you are not in the Staunton area....get there! The experience will soothe your soul, calm your spirit, bring joy to your heart and bliss to your belly!”

It's rare to see someone take that much pride in their work, and it truly made my day. Burger King is lucky to have her! “Just left Long John Silver’s in Staunton Virginia and it was the best meal I’ve ever had from long John silvers in my life. It was a fish, shrimp chicken, and they had everything right the hush puppies were crispy on the outside, soft in the middle big thick pieces of fish and the breading big fat shrimp it was so good I mean they have their their act together and whoever is working, there really does care about their job because you can taste in the food. Everything was fabulous and people should go check it out because I’ve been going there a long time and this is the best meal I’ve ever had from there”
