“The food here is seriously good. I had the butternut squash soup and it tasted just like my mom's (actually probably even better, sorry mom). The roasted sweet potatoes were out of this world delicious, it took everything in me not to beg for the recipe. My spouse had the party melt which he absolutely raved about. The prices are 100% worth it, as they must use local or fresh ingredients for everything. Honestly, I haven't had food this simply good and delicious since I visited Italy in 2013... and that's saying something. Never mind how cute the atmosphere is. With a small grocery fresh selection and HUGE wall of wine. And our server was just wonderful, so kind and genuine and made us feel at home.We were just stopping through town, but if I lived here I'd stop in every week.“
“A great discovery! The homemade bread (3 kinds- bavarian, wheat & white) and the homemade apple cinnamon butter were absolutely amazing!! We had the prime rib sandwich which was delicious (with a creamy horseradish sauce) and the black bean burger with guacamole roasted onion and cilantro and parsley aioli! Yum ?The building is an old mill for making flour. The aesthetics are absolutely fantastic! The service was the best we have seen in a long time!!Highly recommended!! 10 out ov 10“
“This is the only good country breakfast place in the Staunton neighborhood other than Cracker Barrel. This restaurant has typical Retro looks from the restaurants in 90's. You will love it. The servers were very nice. Service was great. The omelette was fluffy and quite delicious. The sausage links were great too. The only thing I was disappointed with were the pancakes. It was freshly made, but the taste was not up to the mark. Toast was okay, could have been better.Vegetarian options: Toast, pancakes etc.Dietary restrictions: FlexibleParking: Free parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Yes, family friendly environmentWheelchair accessibility: Yes!“
“I did not know there was a DPO in Staunton! We have always loved the one in Lynchburg and thought it would be a nice lunch while we were in town. I got the Smothered Chicken, my wife got a Steak. Both were so juicy and flavorful and cooked to perfection (the second time). With only the one hiccup of wrongly prepared meat, the cook, our server, and the manager immediately fixed it and offered us some compensation. I have rarely ever received such gracious, cheerful, and inviting service in any restaurant. This crew made me WANT to drive 3 hours again for a meal. Awesome job!Parking: Small lot outside does not fit seating capacity. There is a large lot just down the hill (1.25/hr) or if you are lucky you might find a free 2hr space nearby.Kid-friendliness: Family atmosphere, very friendly cheerful staff. Large paper covering the table and crayons for kids and adults alike to let their creativity flow! The best ones make the wall!“
“They have a decent variety of breakfast food. They could benefit from changing what they offer for breakfast as it is the same every day. The staff are always kind and helpful. Our glasses are always full, and the table never has a chance to collect dirty plates. We visit almost every weekend.“
“The Shack was a refreshingly unique experience and we are still talking about the incredible flavors we enjoyed there. When we walked in to the tiny restaurant, we noticed the interior is completely unpretentious. At the Shack, the focus is the meal you will enjoy there and we really enjoyed that. We had a wonderful five course meal (with extra gifts added from the chef) and each had a different wine paring. The wine was very intelligently paired and really just made the evening. My husband and I had different food and wine with each course and with one of the courses we were each given a Chenin Blanc that were so radically different. We loved it, and the food was equally exciting. The chef meandered from Asian to Italian cuisine while sewing a thread of Appalachia through each course to tie it all together. Really inspired food and we cannot wait to return.*The food was beautifully plated but we did not take photos so you will just have to go enjoy it for yourself to see the chefs creations...they will likely be different next week anyway.“
“Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes did have a meat component, but there were some vegetarian options. I had the fettuccine and it was very good!Parking: After 5:00 on weekdays the nearby parking lot and street parking are free, otherwise they are metered in the parking lot and limited to 2 hours on the street.“
“Shout out to our waitress Ida we love you!!! And to the new manager Sidney. He's awesome. A no nonsense kind of man. Firm direct but extremely fair and professional. A much needed change. Keep up the great work!!!♥️Kid-friendliness: They treat our little grandsons like kings“
“I had an incredibly positive experience at this Chilis because of their amazing employee Hayden who helped answer my questions about my to-go order as well as going out of his way to make sure it was prepared at exactly the time I knew I would arrive. It was hot, delicious, and waiting for me upon my arrival even though it was late at night. His customer service went above and beyond! (Apologies if I didn’t spell your name right, Hayden ?)“
“The other night we went to Red lobster they were so busy that our waitress did not have a whole lot of time to do things for us she had too many tables to tend to they need it more staff that night because they were packed but other than that that was an amazing place to eat the food was out of this “
“Thank God for Applebee's eating good in the neighborhood they're the only restaurant ih town to stay open late to serve us !!! Everybody else closes at sunset. I don't know what all the other restaurants are too scared of, but I am thankful for Applebee's being open to serve us !!“
“Usually at Cracker Barrel I'm very satisfied with the food, but today the new BBQ chicken tenders were not as expected. They were tough, hard to cut, and chewy. Plus the extra sauce for dipping was cold. Cracker Barrel might want to rethink this dish. Wasn't impressed at all. Cole slaw was very good. The waitress did comp the tenders and that was very nice of her. She was great.“
“Finally had the opportunity to eat here. Had stopped previously but it had always been too crowded. Enjoyed lunch on a Saturday. Was immediately seated. Ordered a ruben and potato salad. It was very tasty and fresh. The others I ate with had chicken tenders, a burger and vegetable soup. The also enjoyed theirs. The 2 kids meals also came with a cookie which they absolutely loved.Fresh homestyle food that won't break the bank or your wallet. Stop here when you can... You'll enjoy it.“
“Such a delicious little lunch spot. The shrimp tacos and burgers were delicious. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Our waiter was great (I don’t remember his name, but he was from Thornburg). He was friendly, gave helpful menu suggestions, and was quick and efficient.“
