The taste of the food was really good, however, the meat they served me was literally solid fat. There wasn't a single bite of meat in the portion- which was really disappointing. One would like to have an edible main dish at the price point. I would normally send it back but we were there as part of a celebration. The place is quite charming but it is a long way to go for that quality.
Went for brunch and was so pleased with the 3 course menu and level of service. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so lovely and each bite felt intentional and special. Ian has been creating meaningful culinary experiences in Staunton for a long time, but Maude and the Bear is truly his best work yet. I can’t wait to return for dinner service very soon!
Definitely a hidden gem! Me and my wife Sherri came up for a quirt weekend and this place did not disappoint. This place was absolutely wonderful. From the Chef's Table to the cottage, we stayed in overnight! Definitely worth the drive to Staunton to check this place out. Chef Ian, the staff and his wonderful wife Leslie go out of their way to ensure you have a great time. Food 10/10 Service 10/10.
