Went with my partner as a group of 2 and we loved our experience. Great ambiance, excellent decor, delightful service; It was a busy night for an opening weekend and the crew handled the crowds really well. We had the Artichoke Stuffed Mushrooms and the Poached Pear & Radicchio Salad to start, both of which we finished extremely quickly and I can personally attest to how tasty the mushrooms were in particular. The Mushroom Ravioli and New York Strip Steak were excellent entrees as well, with a lot of exciting detail to not just the flavors but the artful plating. It also features a decently ranged craft beer selection, and some fun cocktails to boot, our personal favorites were the Beverly Garden & the Aviator Calvino.All in all wonderful new spot, everyone should try it out!

We had an excellent evening at this new Staunton spot. The menu was creative which is always exciting. The dishes were bursting with flavor - we enjoyed the goat cheese fondue and the crab cake appetizers. Each of us were impressed with our individual entree choices - the sauce with the chicken cacciatore was fragrant with fresh herbs. Yum! The atmosphere was friendly and buzzing with excitement. So glad I brought my appetite, and please do the same, because you're gonna wanna do all three courses. I was recommended the 3 Meatballs, and I was NOT disappointed! Beautiful, unique presentation and mouth-wateringly good. I'm always a sucker for salmon, and their Grilled Atlantic was first rate... my party of 3 split the two desserts offered (brownie and apple pie), and grateful to have sampled both. Considering I was there for their first night (soft-opening), I was so impressed how well-oiled a machine their operations were - with a friendly & professional staff to boot. For a great dining experience in the heart of charming Beverly Street Staunton, you just can't go wrong with Queen City. Very footable to the Black Friars and local cinemas if you wanted to make a night of it. What a welcome addition to the Queen City!

Great dining experience at a new restaurant in a prime downtown location!My family and I attended the opening night and dinner service at the new Queen City Bistro in downtown Staunton. It is located in the space once occupied by the old Emilio's Italian Restaurant. The building and interior has undergone some renovations and the new decor and settings really feel comfy and inviting for upscale-casual dining. The greetings and atmosphere were very welcoming.The food was excellent and we enjoyed the modern take on dishes with a unique Italian flair. Drinks were made well and the wine selection, although currently limited, was very good with a selection of French, South American, and Spanish wines. The tempura-like Fried Shrimp with Crisped Polenta Wedges and Herbed Olive Oil was a great starter as well as a surprisingly refined Goat Cheese and Tomato Fondue dish. The Tri-Tip Steak main course was cooked to a perfect temperature and it has been quite a while since any of us had a wonderfully Sweet-and-Savory Spiced Rockfish with a hearty Peperonata sauce. We all shared the Black Bean Brownie and Ice Cream and found it that it disappeared a bit too quickly. Tasty!The owners and staff were very friendly, helpful, and prompt. Opening night can make for a tense atmosphere but the servers and tenders were seasoned in their craft and made everything go as smoothly as it could. We all had a great time and enjoyed the dining at Queen City Bistro! This is a definite recommend to friends and family!
I ordered a trio of appetizers because I wanted to explore the talent of this new restaurant’s kitchen. The meatball trio was delicious! The crab cake is among the best I’ve ever tried and I’m from the coast. Finally their Shrimp and “Grits” This could easily become a signature dish, SO GOOD! The shrimp were fried light and crispy with a GF source over a grit cake that was light and buttery. And the portion was generous and shareable.

I have had nothing but an amazing experience with the owners of QCB. They are amazing people with a talent in the hospitality industry. They truly know how to take care of people and make them feel at home. I was excited to experience their soft opening this weekend and it did not disappoint. QCB tackled their soft opening with elegance and grace. I had the Rockfish (highly recommend) and the Shrimp and Grits App (Also highly recommend). While there are always kinks to be worked out when first opening, I see nothing but progress from what I witnessed. We will definitely be back. Great job my friends and WELCOME TO STAUNTON!!!
