Food wasn't fresh, poor packaging that made food drip out the container. Goat biyarni had to much food coloring in the rice, butter chicken with bones was so nasty and the chicken all hard and not tender at all and nann bread was so soggy. Asked for plates and didn't have none, what restaurant doesn't have to go plates.

Worst experience in DMV. We went for dinner and ordered Pav Bhaji. It was worst bhaji ever as I can literally smell it was made from frozen. I doubted because there were noone else other than us. We didnot ate it and also didn't bother to togo. When we went for payment, chef asked about why we didnot togo and I conveyed the same. He was guaranteeing that it was fresh. I told him to try it out from kitchen and prove me and he made a face like I am lying and went away saying there is order for 50 pav bhaji tomorrow and we make it fresh but what I got was the worst.

We came to Banaras Xpress to celebrate after my Nikkah, and the experience was absolutely wonderful! Deepak and his team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They checked in on us multiple times and made sure we were comfortable and happy. The food was delicious, and the service was warm and attentive. All of our guests had such a great time and couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the staff and atmosphere were. Truly a memorable and joyful evening. Thank you, Banaras Xpress, for making our special day even more special!

Ordered Chicken Biryani for a catered event for 15 people. It was very good but a bit spicy for some. The accompanying Raita was not sealed properly and it spilled in my vehicle.

I’m surprised. One of my fav is chicken Biryani. This place unlike anywhere else. Has a ton of chicken in it and taste was awesome. They don’t skimp and large portion. Now I have to go back to try the tandoori

Let's not Say

I ordered the Hakka noodles with chicken and chole bhature. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The noodles had an unpleasant smell that made them hard to even taste, and the chicken seemed either stale or like it was made from leftover tandoori pieces. It neither smelled fresh nor tasted good.

The chole were passable, but nothing memorable—definitely not worth paying for again. This was my first time ordering from here based on their high ratings, but I suspect the restaurant may have rebranded, as I vaguely recall a similar poor experience in the past. I didn’t leave a review then, but I’m doing it now.

Honestly, I don’t understand how this place has a rating of 4. Based on the smell alone, I won’t be giving it another chance.

2 options. Replace the entire management, or close down shop. I didnt even think it was possible to mess up a single tables orders this much. Im pretty much done with Indian restaurants at a whole. And im Indian. Some good food items, but also some bad ones. If you decide to give it a go, Paneer tikka pizza was fire. Thalis were also good.

This is the worst place I've ever been to. We placed order to go for about $70-$80 just for us two and nothing was fresh. Everything was stale and tasted so bad. We ordered chana poori and it was super oily like we can see oil floating literally on the top and lamb saag that we ordered was smelly that we didn't even take 1 bite of it. Most simple and easy appetizer is chaat and they even ruined that. In short will never go there again. Worst 80 dollars spent and worst experience ever.

Had a great dinner. Food is outstanding, the service is so welcoming and friendly. We were not sure about what to order for the appetizers, then the owner was so kind to offered us a free taste of some options.
Thank you!

I’ve been in town for 10 years. This is by far the best Indian food here.
