made an order for my oxtail to go. Not authentic jamaican food and it’s noticeable. If you dont know how jamaican food is supposed to taste dont let yourself down and start here. The rice and peas are nothing like how it’s supposed to taste and the oxtail could use more meat than fat.

From a Caribbean person, don’t do it if you want authentic taste. They were cheap on the ox, and way too much gravy, which made the rice soft. I’d suggest putting sauces on the side and if you’re going to put less meat, add more veggies.

This restaurant is inside of the Holiday Inn in Sterling, but is only a carry out service within the O'Malleys Irish Pub. This is not what I was expecting at all! I wanted to take a friend of mine, who is Jamaican, that was here visiting. We were both taken by surprise but decided to try it anyway. They only allow you to order it as carryout and you cannot eat inside of the restaurant. We ordered Jerk chicken leg quarters (comes with rice, beans, & cabbage), beef patties, and a jerk chicken sandwich (similar to a club sandwich) with a side of yucca fries. We ate in the hotel lobby since we couldn't eat it there. My friend said the look was ok, it had a glaze appearance, and the taste was similar but different spices were used. He said it was still good but not a true authentic taste. I enjoyed the sandwich but it literally was like a grilled chicken, but the yucca fries were tasty. The beef patties were spot on though!

This was the best jerk chicken I have ever had! Even the cabbage had more flavor than any cabbage I have ever eaten. I’m really glad I found this place on door dash. Thanks grandpa Hank!!!

This is not a Jamaican Restaurant!!! I had the oxtail and it literally tasted like they put a pound of sugar in it!! The jerk chicken pizza had barley any jerk flavor. I don’t think the cooks know what they’re doing and if they even know anything about Caribbean food. If could give negative stars I would honestly DO BETTER GRANDPA HANKS!!!

I ordered ox tails, rice and peas, chicken patties, beef patties and coco bread, but the food is TOO SPICY - did not enjoy any of it, except the coco bread. It was too expensive also. Will not order from there again.

This is by far the worst so called Jamaican food I ever had (I am a Jamaican). I told them easy on the gravy. The pictures will speak for itself. I ordered a pineapple upside down cake and it tasted like someone put a slice of pineapple on a piece of cardboard. They proceeded to cut up a whole pepper in my meal instead of placing it on the side. I will let the pictures speak. They gave me jerk chicken which basically as done in the oven with some black pepper and salt. Good thing they won't be there long. Hear they are getting replaced by TGIF.

Food was overcooked and blang. The goat curry had to many bones and was too spicy for me and the Jerk chicken was just bad all around. We Didn't finish the food we just threw it out.

I’m from the Caribbean and know great island food when I see it, this food is not authentic Jamaican food! I ordered oxtail which is one of Jamaica’s signature dishes and it was not even seasoned Jamaican style, too much rice and drench in watery gravy, I had to send it back to separate the rice and meat. The oxtail here is not worth $24! Not going back!

I don't know about these reviews because my food was delicious! I was craving beef patties so I found this spot that was close to where I was running errands. I remembered going to this hotel last year when my sister was in town but not seeing anything but a pub. Well, this is a pop up restaurant in O'Malley's. I ended up getting a drink while I waited for my food. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. The beef patties did not taste frozen at all. The jerk wings even came with dirty rice. The jerk sauce was amazing and pretty spicy. I'd definitely get both of these dishes again. Check them out!

I'm Jamaican, and can attest that Jamaican-food does not automatically mean "super spicy with pepper". Curry Goat and Ox tail Stew are Jamaican staples. My order of these signature dishes was far below what's expected. The meat was not tender, undercooked potatoes, tons of rice. If this restaurant can't get these 2 dishes right -- I have no hope for the rest of the menu. My first order is my last.

The food was actually really good like I was actually surprised because there’s not a lot of food Caribbean food in the DMV. I got the oxtail and rice. The oxtail portion is small tbh. The price for the food is 20 usd which isn’t bad for the DMV but elsewhere it’s expensive. Natalia was nice! Go try it!

It's inside the O'Malleys pub you have to ask for the menu and to order "take out only" specifically from the host/hostess. Not really Jamaican food, maybe someone in the kitchen got permission to do a side menu of sorts ?
