1710 Tavern Reviews
We stopped in by chance. It’s our 24th anniversary and wanted to try a new place. The wait staff was amazing! The food, I don’t have words. My husband has the short ribs and I had the seared tuna. It was absolutely perfect. 5 Star hands down! We ordered drinks, a crab appetizer (delicious) and the food was out in no time. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner a delicious one.
Crab Cakes were over cooked . Hush Puppies almost black on the outside, not cooked on the inside. Rest of our meal was mediocre at best.
Where can I start. 1710 and Essex Inn came to our rescue hosting my Mother in Law's reception after her service as well as a private dinner at Essex Inn this past Saturday. although they were slammed Saturday night the service , food and attention toe every detail for the dinner was above expectations.
For the Memorial Reception they delivered exceptional walk around and shared appetizers over a 3 hour period. Every hot appetizer was perfect.

1710 Tavern is a charming restaurant with a neat old building that offers a fine dining experience with good, fresh ingredients. The crabcakes are a must-try, reminiscent of homemade family recipes with classic seasonings. The she crab soup is exceptional, and the duck dish is enjoyable. The atmosphere and service are good, and the restaurant is kid-friendly. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food justifies it. The outdoor seating area is lovely, and the parking is convenient. The menu offers a variety of options, from crab hush puppies to lamb lollipops, all of which are delicious. The steaks are perfectly cooked, and the short rib is flavorful. The dessert selection, like the carrot cake and crème brûlée, is delightful. The full bar serves excellent drinks, such as the Smokey old fashion and the prickly pear margaritas. The staff and owners are friendly, making the overall dining experience enjoyable.

The food continues to impress, with favorites like Filet, Swordfish, and apple cake being described as world-class. The cocktails, prepared by Micky and TJ, are highly praised. The wait staff, including Ashley, are attentive and efficient. Prices are considered very reasonable for fine dining, making it a popular choice for special occasions and everyday visits alike.
