Sundays hours, as advertised on both google and their website, are 7:30a - 1:30p. My family and I arrived at 9:30am on Sunday to a completely closed restaurant. No sign to explain, to answer to their phone and no posts on social media about being closed. Very disappointing to have a birthday breakfast ruined.

Great little place. Food, service, good size portions and lovely atmosphere! We will definitely be going again. My husband is a connoisseur of soft shell crabs, he said these were the best he has ever eaten, including the ones he cooks himself. We can’t say enough good things about this establishment!

Tastiest hamburger in the area! Puts the other local joints to shame. A cozy restaurant with great hometime appeal. Fairly priced with great food. Service was top notch and the beer was super cold. Great place to dine.

This is my new favorite gourmet restaurant . High quality food and service. The best soft shell crab sandwich in Virginia . Ms DD is an amazing chef . I wish they were closer to us, we drive 32 miles each way to grace her restaurant .

Big Oak Cafe is off the beaten path but well worth finding. The food is always excellent with some dishes not found elsewhere in the Urbanna area. I like to think of the offerings as east coast soul food. One of my favorites is the shrimp and corn chowder! The dining room is slightly whimsical, clean and welcoming. The owner is hands on in the kitchen and her staff are courteous.

This afternoon I was impressed with the service and food today, awesome work... I got the steak and cheese with grilled onions side of Mac and cheese. I definitely will be going back again..

One of the best breakfasts I had. Lovely place open early for breakfast. Freshly made comfort food, everything was delicious! Friendly service. I ordered the Chipped Beef over Toast Points since I never had it before. All breakfast plates come with two sides, except the Breakfast Bowl. The side order of sausage was slightly spicy which I obviously loved it. The side order of Chicken Biscuit was made with real chicken tender, homemade biscuits was really good. Egg Benedict was on daily special. It served with sliced ham. My husband has Omelette.If you are in Urbana, make sure you give it a try.
Kid-friendliness: There is kids food on the menu. They also have high chair and booster seats.
