I am not a food critic. I do not write reviews. But Amma's Kitchen earned this one.

I first visited this place in 2008. Life moved on, and so did I — all the way to Texas. Recently I was back for a short trip, a little hungry, and on a whim looked them up. They were minutes from closing. I called ahead, ordered by phone, and rushed over. I walked in just in time.
And the moment I took that first bite of the Mysore Masala Dosa, I understood...

Don't usually write reviews, but this one felt worth it. Ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa, Lemon Rice, Tamarind Rice, and Curd Rice. Everything was well made. The chutney and sambar were good, portions reasonable. It just tasted right, which is harder to find than it sounds for South Indian food in this area. This is the best and cheapest I've come across, including some of the bigger, more popular spots. Will definitely be back.
