My wife took me to Nostos, one of our favorite restaurants in the D.C. area, to celebrate my birthday. It was exceptional. We started with taverna salads. My wife then had the rainbow trout special while I had the mixed seafood entree (Youvetsi Thalassinon). The food was fabulous, paired with a crisp Assyrtiko from Santorini. The service was top notch. As my wife says, owner Peter Pagonis runs a first class operation. We will be back!

We look forward to a Nostos night whenever we're in town-it's our go to for an easy guaranteed fun date night vibe with excellent service and amazing meals- transporting us to the Mediterranean we love.

We made an early appt for dinner at 5:30 so restaurant would not be noisy. By 6pm it was uncomfortable noisy. I had been there years ago and was impressed with the upscale changes that had been made. We arrived at 5:15 and the hostess took us to a small table for 2. I asked if we could have a table for 4. She said yes but we had to leave by 7:15. We said we would definitely be gone before then. Maybe they didnt believe us because my wine drink and the food all came out about 5:30...
