I was very disappointed with my pork chop entree. It was tough and dry. so much so that in attempting to cut it, my plate slid around on the slippery (no table cloth) surface. The accompanying mashed potatoes were lukewarm. On a more positive note, my dinner mates enjoyed their meals. The service seemed a bit challenged, especially in delivering our wine orders, i.e., did not show up until midway through our appetizers. Our booth along the back wall was dark until somebody finally decided to turn up the lights. As we were leaving, we noticed the bar area, which seemed a more cozy and comfortable area than the main dining room. Having looked at the prices, we tried it only because of a very positive WAPO review. We should have gone back to Basins, where we ate two nights ago and had a fantastic meal from beginning to end -- at about a third less the cost.

When you walk in, place has a decent atmosphere near the bar and looks nice.Ordered the forager, and while I like black walnut bitters, personally, it was ok. Partner ordered the mezcal Negroni and that was good. When we went to sit down, server was very nice, but seemed to make too many mistakes for the price point of this restaurant.Food runner brought entrees out and our server had not brought new silverware and no pre bus had occurred. We also ordered two glasses of wine, and while my partner got hers, I never got mine until I asked the manager if they could bring my glass and I had finished a good portion of my steak. The entrees arrived, and my Bernaise was placed next to my partners Bronzino while her coconut curry was placed next to my steak. Luckily she poured my Bernaise on her Bronzino and I noticed it looked likeBernaise or I would have poured coconut curry on my steak.Good thing was she loves Bernaise so it was OK. The manager swung by and was very kind, comped my wine. The server was very nice as well. All in all a decent restaurant with very good food, steps of service could be tightened, and not on par with other locations I’ve been to at similar price points.

Great food and atmosphere. Our favorite was the French onion soup, gnocchi, branzino and apple pie (not pictured). Nice background music that was not too loud which made it easy to carry a conversation with a group. Worth a visit if you’re in Vienna.

Adding our two big thumbs up for The Maple Room. Excellent decor, nice overall vibe, food and cocktails on point, and the service was impeccable. Maybe a tad pricey but no regrets and we would go back. Capped off desert with a stroll down to the Hawk & Griffin for some live music and pints. So nice to have such good options near us without having to go into DC.

The service was quick and attentive, the food was perfect with minimal seasoning and the decor was relaxing and bright. We will return soon because there are few places like this in NVA area. Karen M had most of the answers to our questions regarding the menu items and the one she didn't she asked the chef who makes the tuna poke with an herb we don't care to eat. The pork belly was shared and could have used a little more pickled cabbage but it was a delicious start to a fine meal. The halibut was perfect and the pork chop was more than I could eat. We were full beyond having dessert.

I have not given a five star review in so long and this place deserves it. Food was excellent. We had the salmon and the tuna. Both were delicious. Cocktail (mule) was good. Good beer selection and we thought the glasses of wine were reasonably priced. We had the trio of crème brûlée for dessert and it was excellent. Service was friendly. A little slow at times - but not awful. Prices are high - plan to spend some money. We did not think this distracted from the meal. Beautiful place and decor.

Nice décor. Good service. Food is good, but not memorable. Cocktails interesting but not note worthy. Price is exorbitant for what you get - a poor value!I and two colleagues went for dinner. All three of us travel, and eat out often, so we know what it costs to eat out. We were looking forward to a nice dinner and were prepared to pay for it. What we got... was mugged! One of us ordered lamb chops. He got two lamb chops and nothing else (no sides). With a bottle of sparkling water. $80 with tax and tip. Another ordered salmon and a cocktail. Salmon was $40 and cocktail was $20 (the signature brown sugar Old Fashioned) that was mostly ice. Food was competent , but nothing special. The old fashioned was very sweet, but interesting if not memorable. Again, $80 with tax and tip. I ordered the porkchop and a cocktail. The pork chop was served on a thin bed of mashed potatoes, and nothing else. The cocktail was a mushroom infused, smoked Manhattan with black walnut bitters (one of my favorite bitters). Again, interesting but not something I would order again. The pork chop was competently cooked, but had nothing distinctive. We were told we could order side dishes (for the table) but at $10 per on top of the entrée, we weren't enthusiastic. At the prices I expect a dinner, not an ala carte entrée, and I expect them to be memorable. The only thing memorable was that we left feeling like we'd been ripped off. Cost wouldn't have been an issue if we felt like we had gotten an experience, and a memorable dinner, but that is not the case at the Maple Room. All three of us have eaten better meals for far less money. The Maple Room isn't really trying, they are taking advantage! First time in a long time where I felt like I had been mugged by a restaurant, and actually left angry. Pretentious is not a business model!!

My husband and I went here for a rare date night occasion. We were really excited for a new, upscale restaurant in town. Unfortunately, our entire experience here was extremely underwhelming. It started out with having to wait for our table for about 15 minutes, even though we had reservations. I will say, though, they were kind enough to offer us drinks from the bar while we waited. Once seated, we waited for an extremely long time for our waiter to show up. Thank goodness we had our drinks from waiting, otherwise, we probably would have waited over a half hour if we relied on our server. Meanwhile, tables around us seemed to have very attentive servers. Our appetizers were great, but small for the price. Never got the complimentary bread from our server - had to ask the manager for the bread. My husband ordered the ribeye medium rare and it came out medium, so he sent it back and it came out medium again. He even asked the manager if he thought his second piece was medium rare and the manager admitted it was medium again. He offered to remake it again, but my husband was starving at that point (I had finished my meal), so he just said forget it. The bernaise sauce he ordered tasted like straight up mayonnaise. Honestly, my husband could cook a better steak at home - super disappointing. We thought maybe we could end on a positive note with dessert. Ordered the bread pudding and it was just meh. 2.5 hours later, we thought for sure they would make some kind of accommodation to the bill for messing up his steak TWICE - nope! We had to bring up our disappointment to the server before they eventually took his steak off the bill. The manager came back to apologize and stated they were understaffed- ok, but spending over $400 between drinks, apps, and entrees, I expected a much better experience. Will not return to the main dining...MAY try the lounge since they are so rare in Vienna.

Unbelievable is all I can say! The service and ambiance were spot on. Everything was going along so well. I decided on the lamb chops for my entree. My plate arrived with two small chops and a small container of jam - AND that is all! The juice wasn't worth the squeeze at $58.00. My two colleagues just stared at my plate in disbelief. Needless to say I was embarrassed that I had chosen this dish.

We tried The Maple Room a month or so ago and left a little underwhelmed. The cocktails were ok and my wife's fish was very good but I ordered the filet and was very surprised that it had little to no flavor. It was cooked perfectly and a very nice cut of meat but had no seasoning to speak of and tasted like nothing. The fact they charge so much for a flavorless filet with no sides was a bit of a shock. All the side options are meant for more than one person so you get to add another $10 to your bill if you are so inclined. The place is lovely and the service is great. Really great, in fact! I had hoped desert would finish things on a high note but the bread pudding also underwhelmed. The bill was a bit north of $200 and seemed excessive for a so-so meal. Maybe I chose poorly that night. They don't claim to be a steak house after all. I'm just not sure we'll try again. Time will tell.

Wonderful dining experience. Food was phenomenal as was the service. I had a wonderful birthday dinner there, and also enjoyed the classy and elegant vibe of this restaurant. We had the truffle gnocchi as an appetizer and really enjoyed it...loved the truffle flavor and crispy parmesan on top. We also ordered the tagliatelle pasta, lamb chops, roast chicken and branzino, and all had such a great depth of flavor. Service was on point. Overall a truly enjoyable dinner experience.
