Dogwood is nice but always out of items on menu. Whoever orders for them should be fired. Menu prices are never what you get charged. The only great part is their staff.

By the time we were seated it was over an hour before we got our food. Our waitress worried about her phone and standing around talking to 3 young ladies instead of checking on us. She never refilled my wife’s coffee or my soda, one if the others did.

On 12/01/2025 at approx. 2:30 p.m. I ate a late lunch at the Dowood restaurant.I have been eating at this restaurant off and on since I was a boy and am now 76.Today the food was awful.I ordered the meatloaf,macaroni and cheese and a potato cake with gravy topping.The meatloaf and macaroni and cheese was so dry that you could hardly swallow it .The potato cake was white on top and burnt on the bottom but the gravy over rid the burnt taste.The roll that came with it and the Coke fountain drink was good.The service at this restaurant is always good.It seems to me that the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen is lacking lately.I have gotton chicken livers at this restaurant on two separate occassions and they too were extremely dry and hard to swallow.Maybe I am coming to eat there at the wrong time but subpar food should not be comiing out of the kitchen.It is ashame because I have enjoyed coming there my whole life.

The waitress we had was incompetent. She played with her hair and ate her own before serving her customers food. By the time I received my food, it was cold. She never came back over to ask how it was. The food probably would have been good if it didn't sit there a while before she served it.

My boyfriend and I were really excited to try this place for the first time, but within just a couple of bites, I found a hair in my mac and cheese. It completely killed my appetite. I didn’t say anything in the moment because I felt uncomfortable and just wanted to leave, but I couldn’t finish the food after that. On top of that, the restaurant itself didn’t feel very clean or organized. There was some kind of black buildup around the vents and on parts of the walls, and you can see straight into the kitchen where none of the cooks were wearing hair nets. It didn’t give the impression that cleanliness was a priority, so the hair in my food wasn’t surprising. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it’ll be our last.

Went there to eat today. Everything we went to order they were out of. Claiming the truck would be in the next day. We stayed anyway, The hot dogs were burned, they fell apart, his fries were cold. My hamburger steak was only warm in the middle, pinto beans were cold and the mashed potatoes were cold, and my corn bread was rubbery. I asked them what is going on? WE waited 30 minutes for our food. I don't understand, They used to have great food, I loved going there. I asked to speak to a manager, he was too busy to even talk to us. Just took everything off. We paid for our drinks which was fine. Never going back. ITS A SHAME. if the manager would have talked to us,it would be a different story. 😔

Food was very good but not hot. Rolls cane at end of dinner. Prices were very reasonable. The noise was almost unbearable. We could barely talk to one another from the noise from the kitchen/cooking area. It was the worst. Never will i go back and eat inside...never.

We try to eat at Dogwood anytime we're in Vinton. We love their menu as you can find homestyle meals along with great burgers or sandwiches. We dropped by last night after a soccer practice, and our meals were delicious! The service was great! We also loved the additional space they have built out next door since the last time we visited. They even have outdoor dining now! We'll be back soon! (I had the grilled chicken with grilled onions and mushrooms, mac & cheese, and greens with cornbread - pictured.)
