Address is the post office here . They are located at 129 Cleveland. However they open when they want to so don’t plan on eating here . Arrived on Saturday at 5pm and no one was here . Saying 11-8 smh . Waste of gas money .

This is now Smiley's Grill and BBQ and it's very good. Homemade food and cakes and pies! Hand dipped ice cream.

The ONLY reason this place is getting “one” star is bc I couldn’t give zero. I am not a local so I am well versed on southern/soul food cuisine and this place lacks in taste and professionalism. I had the catfish dinner with collards, Mac and cheese, and candied yams. The cat fish was “okay”, but was cooked in old grease or grease that may have been reused. The noodles for the Mac and cheese were cooked beyond al dente’ and were soggy and the collards were soaked in vinegar. As I am not from the area, the way the food was cooked is probably the way locals are familiar so I can’t say I was “mad”. My complaint is when I called to ask for the sides to be replaced and I explained why, the owner picked up the line and said “I rather you just come and get a refund”. Upon returning to the establishment with food in tow, the owner stated because I ate out of the food, I wasn’t entitled to a refund even after she asked that I return the food and I would receive a refund. I advised that the refund was initiated by the owner, and unbeknownst to me, it was the owner that stated she wouldn’t return my money or offer additional sides. She began to give an analogy about if I was at McDonald’s they wouldn’t offer me a refund and I countered with they would as I returned the food. The response that I received back was that is where I should have gone. Only after stating I was leaving a negative review and will file a claim with my bank was I offered the replacements for the sides. I politely declined, left the food in the bag on the table and stated that they can keep the money and at least I was able to patronize the business even if I was displeased with the food and the service. I understand that everyone may not like the way food is cooked and that’s fine, but everyone is entitled to respect and kindness. The manager was condescending, rude, passive aggressive and before I walked back in the restaurant to return the food, there was a preconceived notion of me and my distaste before I could get a word in edgewise. I would just ask of this business to not be the statistical “black owned business”. Don’t be so quick to be defensive because of how customers approached you with complaints in the past and just listen to the customer, honor your word, and even if you don’t agree with what is being relayed, agree to disagree and apologize for the inconvenience of it all. The end resolve was the manager walking out in the parking lot and handing me my money back which should have been the resolve in the beginning. Instead, I received attitude and a negative experience that could have been handled with much more tact, professionalism, and grace.

Finally had a chance to check this place out. The fish and Mac&Cheese was amazing!!The collard greens was not really seasoned and had a strange pickle juice flavor. I will definitely go back for more Mac&Cheese and try out their fried chicken.
