Idk how I just discovered this place, but I am so glad I did!It's in a shopping center so it's a little hidden but my GPS found it very well.I personally think this place is much better then mission BBQ and it's local and I love supporting locals!They have a good selection of sauces and the food was amazing as well as the service!

love bbq so i had to try this spot! got the pulled pork sliders - those were 10/10. flavor was great. the sides i feel like are a bit over priced for the size, the cole slaw id give 2/5 bdcause it had a very different taste than any other cole slaw i’ve tried. beans i was a bit disappointed in that is what I Judge, a lot of barbecue places from because I love them so much and each place does them different! they were 2/5 for me it tasted like canned beans, mixed with a bunch of condiments. sauces were great, id go back for the pulled pork and try other sides, it was clean inside and staff was nice

GREAT food! Best BBQ I've had in Va Beach. We tried the smoked turkey, brisket, ribs, and pulled pork and each was delicious! Can't wait to come back. Service was friendly and helpful!!

lets start that i usually leave review when i dont like something. I went somewhere else first and they just happened to be closed, luckily. I had taste of texas off the food truck, not very impressed, but went to store front tonight, and I DONT KNOW WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS, but storefront restaurant is your calling; the bbq was absolutely AMAZING, i was truly impressed and greatfully surprised, GREAT FOOD. This is going to be my new go to spot , just wish hours could be extended by 1 hour, that would make it even better.

Authentic Texas Barbecue! Friendly and accommodating staff, and delicious meats and sides. The sliced brisket platter with fries and bacon mac and cheese was huge and delicious. I got the black cherry chipotle sauce - pure awesomeness ? Also got the ribs platter with the new peach whiskey sauce- really fantastic. Off the beaten path, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend!
Today was my first time trying A Taste of Texas. I ordered my food (30 minutes before close) and quickly realized I ordered chopped brisket when i meant to get sliced. I called the restaurant and they made the change for me with no problem!I received my food and let me tell you….i’ve never had brisket this good in my life!! It’s so tender and juicy and smoked to perfection! I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place. I haven’t even finished my platter but i can’t wait to order this again….and again…and again!! These guys should be prideful of their food, and try it out if you haven’t already!! I will be raving about this for the next month. 1000/10

One of the best BBQ places in the 7 cities! Tried the loaded fries the first time I visited and oh my goodness I couldnt believe how much I received and how good it tasted. The home made sauces (black cherry is my goto) lile the new peach whiskey sauce are incredible. I recomend getting a platter with the beans, any other side your feeling like and the sweet potatoe biscuits (these things are like savory little cookies and are awesome). The owner and people that work there are all really nice and will make sure you like what you ordered.
