UPDATE: My grandson and I had an early dinner at Aberdeen Barn today. Jasmine provided stellar service! I ordered the Chesapeake Platter entree on the happy hour menu , which included fried flounder, 7 fried shrimp, cole slaw, a baked potato, and a salad. It was delicious! My grandson ordered from the kid's menu. The restaurant didn't have applesauce for the kid's menu so they substituted orange slices per my request, and even added two cherries. They didn't have the ice cream choices for the kid's menu, so they substituted a slice of scrumptious cheesecake for my grandson. We had a memorable meal!
This is the first time that I have reviewed Aberdeen Barn. I have eaten at this restaurant many times and have been impressed with their service until today. I was very anxious about ordering takeout during the coronavirus, but wanted to help a local business stay in business while also enjoying a good meal. I talked with my physician daughter yesterday about the risks of going to the restaurant to pick up food and decided not to do so. I talked with her again today and, after making sure that I had lysol in the car to spray the outside of the takeout bags and a plan for transferring the food to my dishes after I arrived home, I decided to order the food. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I noticed that patrons were lined up outside with good distance between them and were being allowed in one at a time to pick up their food. Scary, but a good precaution. When it was my turn to enter the restaurant, I was presented with a receipt, but not the food. I asked to see the bag containing the food so that I could check my order and the various sauces requested. Without saying a word, another employee, Hannah, brought a copy of the receipt over to the table at the entrance, placed it and the bag down in an angry manner, and walked away. The first employee walked over, asked what else I needed, and provided the requested sauces. I was furious with Hannah's attitude. Although I have gift certificates to Aberdeen Barn that were purchased during their sale last fall, I could not use them for their five course take out meal today, and had no problem paying to help out a local business. I traveled a distance to patronize the restaurant and was very disappointed to be treated in a negative manner by one of its staff. Hopefully, the food will be worth it when I calm down enough to enjoy it.

Very cool, old school kind of steakhouse. Atmosphere is very comfortable, family friendly. Menu selections range from expensive Japanese Wagyu beef to good quality, less expensive steaks & seafood. They give you a lot of delicious food. Desserts are also wonderful. Service was great. Highly recommend for special occasions or just a nice dinner out.

Our church group of 32 people had an absolutely amazing experience at Aberdeen Barn Steakhouse! From the moment we arrived, everything was handled with excellence, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
Hosting a large group isn’t always easy, but the staff made it look effortless. The food was outstanding — perfectly cooked steaks, delicious sides, and everything served hot and fresh. Every single person in our group left satisfied and impressed.
A special thank you to our incredible servers, Will S. and Jamie G. They were attentive, patient, organized, and so kind throughout the entire evening. They made sure everyone had what they needed and kept everything running smoothly. Their teamwork truly elevated our experience.
If you’re looking for a place that can handle large groups while still delivering top-tier food and service, Aberdeen Barn Steakhouse is it. We will definitely be back!

I took my girlfriend to Aberdeen for Valentine's Day. It's the first time we've been there. I had reservations, and we were sat at our reserved time. We ordered a $25 bacon wrapped appetizer that was delivered very fast. The waitress told us that she put in our appetizer order and saw one just sitting there, so she grabbed it and brought it to us. It was not only subpar, but cold. I ordered a smoked whiskey drink, and it took forever to get there, but was good. I ordered the $65 ribeye, and she ordered the $65 prime rib, both on the Valentine's menu. Both of us got mashed potatoes and a house salad. The mashed potatoes were exactly that. No flavor whatsoever. My ribeye was decent, but nowhere near $65 worth. She orderd her prime rib medium, and it came well done. Very tough and also no seasoning at all. She only ate about 1/3 of it and boxed the rest up. After spending $230 (after the already added gratuity) on a very mediocre meal, I will never be back here again. I won't recommend this place to anyone. I'm very disappointed.

Absolutely wonderful experience. This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Service and food were all spot on. Lori was the perfect server guiding us with great skill and knowledge of the menu.
The Tomahawk steak was perfectly prepared. The calamari is usually a disappointment for me but not here as the texture was perfect.
Lori was our primary contact but all the staff were professional, friendly and helpful.
The live music was also excellent. Playing a venue like this is a tougher job than most would realize. It was a nice assortment played at a perfect volume so as to add atmosphere without distracting any dinner conversations.
Thanks to everyone for providing us a wonderful experience.

Will was our waiter and he was so amazing and fast with the knowledge about the menu! Of course me and my fiance couldn't finish the Tomahawk steak so the next day we heat it up and of course it was still soft and flavorful! Whole experience 10 out of 10! Will definitely visit again!

This is our second time here and we loved it the first time. We don’t get out much with just having our little so we were looking forward to having a parents night out. Everything was fine until we got seated. We waited for our waitress for 20 minutes before she even greeted us as she kept passing us by. When she finally got to us we were curious about the menu as it was limited and she told us because it was Valentine’s Day this was the menu which was totally fine but she had an attitude while explaining. She then had us waiting another 30 minutes, she was working the table next to us and catering to their every need as they were ordering expensive items. I could tell that we were getting different treatment which automatically changed what we ended up getting. When she finally came to our table we put everything in. We waited another 30 minutes for bread. And another hour for an appetizer. I was so frustrated I wanted to get up and leave. We finally got our plates 30 minutes after. We sat for another 30 minutes waiting for her to come to the table and it didn’t happen so I ended up going to the front to checkout. I do not think we will be returning it was just so much more and I’m very unhappy.

I'm not saying the Aberdeen Barnes isn't an excellent steakhouse, I'm just sharing that my experience was nothing special, almost offensive.
We got two appetizers: steak bites (best thing we ordered) & calamari.
Course wife selected a special which is the 45-day aged Queen strip. Came with broccoli & salad. I selected the prime rib. It came with broccoli I upgraded it with some additional asparagus, peppers, and mushrooms.
The steak bites were excellent. Calamari, I can get the same or better almost anywhere.
My prime rib wasn't bad, my food was delivered without the broccoli! Couldn't get her attention until halfway done the meal.... I've gotten better prime rib at the country club for $40 less. The server was excellent.
Aged Queen New York strip was so unimpressive. Flavor was mild, but most surprisingly it was one of the the chewiest steaks I've had! Honestly, she only had a few bites and she told me she was over it!
Another odd thing is if you look at the picture I posted, there's three different types of broccoli on two plates. Mine was chopped all to heck, and my wife had huge florets. One bright green one pale yellow. Pale yellow tasted like it was smoked and she did not like that at all....
Restaurants are supposed to pride themselves with consistency, knowing what they're giving..
The server said that she would say something to the manager. Just for everybody's information that manager's name is Ashley. Heartless Ashley, didn't want to hear anything that was said apparently. Never even came to the table and instead told her that we could have some dessert to go. I'm sorry but I didn't ask for dessert. And if you're thinking that you're protecting your falsely 45-day age steak, I feel like it was just another New York strip that was rubbed down at the last minute. Maybe I'm wrong but I'll never know but I know what it's like. And also I was a chef with the only Master Belgium chef in the whole world for years. This isn't my first rodeo we've never treated a customer like that. I'm certainly not complaining because I needed the money either.
Maybe everybody else simply is too worried to say something because of its prestige. But for those of you that are holding your tongue and didn't care about the $90 you spent on a $15 steak.... You're not doing anybody any favors.
I'll take my business elsewhere and anybody that I can.

I took my wife the night before Valentine's, made a reservation and still waited a half hour to be seated. The place was packed, which was to be expected. What I didn't expect was to wait over an hour between getting our appetizer to getting our meal. I know the staff were overwhelmed, I could hear them apologizing to other tables about the long wait. However the waitress never told me the special for the evening which turned out to be pretty much what I ordered. So I ended up paying more! And I think the quality of the food suffered because of how quickly they needed to get plates out.
I was super disappointed in the marrow bone which I had really been looking forward to. It wasn't even a teaspoon worth I got off it! Not worth $13. Just overall disappointed based on what I had heard of this place, and what the prices were. Only positives were the drinks and the appetizers. Maybe I'll try again on a random day of the week, but I doubt it.

This was our first visit here it was Valentines day and it was delightful; it is quite spacious and offers many comfortable areas, beautiful decorated. The service was excellent, and our server, Mrs. Lori, was particularly attentive and pleasant. The food was exceptional, with every dish expertly prepared and flavorful. We loved the Rockefeller Oysters they were delicious 😋 😍

My wife and I fell in love with Aberdeen Barn Steakhouse in August in 2025 for our Anniversary celebration. We were exceptionally impressed with the service. So much so, we just had to bring friends from out of state there for a late lunch in October. We've been back a couple of times and the service has been worse and worse, culminating in last night's Valentine's Day Dinner. It was a no-brainer where I wanted to take my wife for dinner. I paid no thought to the 1-hour-plus drive. Made reservations, viewed the menu online, stood in line waiting to check-in and again waiting for a table. Viewing the various signs about available menu items. Only to be told once getting to our table that there is a special menu for the weekend, and the normal menu items were not available. I understand that for kitchen efficiency, or whatever Ashley (the manager I spoke with) said. By the way, during our conversation, she said she would take care of us, but we did not see her again. Even after my wife's Prime Rib and my lamb chops were over cooked. It would have been nice to know that there was a special menu for the weekend. Not even a mention of it on the website. I would have never made the reservation because an abbreviated menu is not what I have learned to expect from The Aberdeen Barn. The level of service we received from Courtney (our server) was well below the standard that we have come to expect from The Aberdeen Barn. For someone who automatically earns a 20% gratuity, that most likely gets shared, gave no effort in selling to grow that number. I spent well over $150 less than I was prepared to due to the overall experience. I will never choose the Aberdeen Barn on a special event again.

Food was delicious. If you like broccoli it is steamed to perfection. Adult beverages were very good. Service was impeccable. Our waiter Harris James was the best and I highly recommend. Would go back in a heart beat. I am sorry not taking any photos of the food but it look so delicious I couldn’t wait to start eating our meal.

Went here for Valentines Day, had heard great things about this restaurant. The food (steaks) were quite underwhelming.. I ordered Prime Rib, my wife ordered filet, both wanted medium....
My wife's filet came out medium rare to almost rare, my prime rib came out medium+ almost well (no pink). Wife asked to have hers redone, came back out a little better but still medium rare. It is quite sad that the consistency of temperature for a steakhouse was so off.
The two of us spent 205.00 after one dessert our entrees and 2 soft drinks. The mandatory 20% service charge I feel like it makes it harder for your servers to get more. I usually tip anywhere from 15% upwards of 25% depending on service and attentiveness, putting a mandatory 20% for 2 people is quite awkward.
Anyways I hope others have a better experience, I feel like it would have been better with better seasoned steaks and consistency in temperature.

Very strange experience on Valentine’s Day. Made a reservation 2 months ago and was met with a giant line to “check in” for my reservation that I was 15 mins early for. Following the “check in” line, I’d be prompted to wait in a giant line to enter the restaurant. No honor is paid to time of reservation. I had this same issue back in the Christmas busy season. I made a reservation and had to wait 30+ minutes past that reservation to be seated. If I make a reservation at 7:30 and arrive at 7:15, I expect to be checked in and sat at the time of my reservation, with maybe a ten-fifteen minute buffer for service issues. Horrible system and very disappointing because food and waiters are amazing.
