I planned a private event here and worked with DeeAnna the Event Specialist on site. She was great to work with, always answered my questions in a timely manner, very accommodating and extremely professional. I would recommend for any private event!

Ballyhoos is a great spot in Virginia Beach with an awesome environment and a really fun vibe. It’s a lively bar with friendly, helpful staff who make you feel welcome right away.
It’s also a great place to host events, and it works well for all different types of groups. They have live music, plus both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it perfect year-round.
Whether you’re stopping in for a drink, music, or a group gathering, Ballyhoos is always a good time. Highly recommend!

Food was nasty the wife and I got food poisoning from it. She ordered a tuna sandwich and it was definitely not tuna. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and they weren't blackened and tasted like they came straight out of a frozen bag. I wouldn't recommend this place to a dog much less a person.

Had my 40th here recently and the coordinator was super helpful throughout the process! She was always available and gave very clear recommendations. The party was a blast - and everyone on site was super friendly, and very helpful throughout the night. I have no complaints and a perfect place to have a party! went saturday for wings over leukemia and lymphoma fundraiser, so much fun. great food, drink, and music. went a few years ago for a Ukrainian festival was also a great time. Plenty of room, plenty of parking, easy to get to.

Ballyhoos is a fantastic venue for gatherings! We recently hosted a class reunion in the outdoor tented space at Ballyhoos for about 100 guests. It was a great success! DeeAnna and the Event Team were so organized, helpful, and kind. Our guests enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and service. I highly recommend!

My husband and I came in today for lunch, the prices were fair so we decided to order. Everything was fine until the food came out and we were basically attacked by flies. Mind you, we were in the INDOOR seating area. We specifically chose to sit inside to avoid the complications of eating seafood outdoors. It's pretty hard to enjoy a meal when the majority of the time spent eating youre dodging and swatting flies away.
Being that we were INSIDE and that the flies did not appear until the food came we are left to wonder where the flies came from. Did they come out of the kitchen?
Ps. If you cannot handle spicy be careful what you order. The shrimp tacos are SMOTHERED in some kind of red sauce that is incredibly spicy. Had we known this, we would not have even ordered them. There is no description on the menu and we were not informed at the time of ordering.
All in all, we paid almost 40 dollars to not eat half the meal. We entered hopeful to try a local place that has had a good reputation. We left angry and hungry.

The team at Ballyhoos was great! From the ease of setting up our event, to the friendly servers, they provided a perfect venue for our group dinner. The kids had room to roam. The food was good and came out quickly. The servers were friendly and kept all of our individual checks straight. Highly recommend!

We have used Ballyhoos for the last three years for our end of season banquet. I have appreciated their willingness to accommodate us as our group ranges in age from ages 4 to 64. We always have a great time. Planning is easy and the catering menu has many choices. Our event is centered around children so we always choose kid favorites for our buffet but it always comes out fresh and delicious. We look forward to continuing having our event here in the future.
