Great service staff is really nice I got my order wrong and asked for butter on my pasta then I asked her if she could wash it off but they made me a whole new one. The pasta is really good and so is the pizza many varieties of pizza and pasta and you could make both custom. No wait to be seated but got there around 30-40 minutes before prime dinner time I didn’t even have to make a reservation. Atmosphere was nice and quiet while having a bit of music in the background nobody was really loud. Overall great experience and great food! 5 stars

As a Brooklyn native, I don’t hand out pizza praise lightly—especially outside of the city. But Basilico in Virginia Beach has earned it.

Let’s start with the toppings: thick, juicy, and unapologetically generous, No Diddy. Non of those crumbs, or scraps. Just real-deal ingredients piled like they mean it. That alone deserves a salute.

Now the dough-Best I’ve had in Virginia so far. That perfect balance, chewy on the inside with a crisp, golden underside that lets you know it was baked with care, not on autopilot.

My crew and I ordered the Sweet Volcano, a classic pepperoni, and the Spinach Pull Bread. The pizzas were Straight fire. 10 out of 10—no notes. Flavor-packed, balanced, and made with real passion.

The spinach bread, though??? Eh… not quite the heavy hitter I expected. The Instagram ad showed a gooey, cheesy masterpiece—but what I got leaned more toward bread with spinach sauce. Light on the cheese, heavy on the letdown. For the price I was expecting pull-apart glory. What I received should’ve been closer to $10, not influencer pricing.

That said, the place is a vibe—friendly staff, laid-back atmosphere, and pies that made me feel a little closer to home.

Final word-If you’re in the 757 and craving pizza that slaps, Basilico delivers (just maybe skip the spinach bread unless they’ve upped their game).

We visited VA for a work trip and were on the lookout for an Italian food place for our last night in town. We loved everything about this place. It was chill, and the food was amazing. I got the Lobster Ravioli and it was simply amazing. Highly recommend if you're nearby!

First time we tried the pizza here, it was light, crispy and delicious. We were craving pizza again tonight but the pizza was not the same. Dense, too chewy and just not that good. Especially for $30. I make pizza dough every week and the consistency of the 18” dough was off and way too heavy for tonight’s pizza. Crust was also not airy like the gluten had no chance to develop. Consistency is a big thing so guess the search continues.

Wonderful Italian style pizza. Fast service and very friendly.
Chairs at the tables are small for larger people. No armchairs would be great.

My wife is from Brooklyn and we've eaten at Mulberry Street many times in Little Italy ?? and some of the best Italian food in NY and we both agree that Basilico is the most authentic Italian food we've had the pleasure of enjoying in the entire area if not Virginia period...I've done close to 300 reviews so check it out if you think I haven't had my share of real Italian food and believe me when I say this is THE SPOT! Bridget was our waitress and she kept our beverages full and was very polite and courteous, we had Eggplant ? Parmigiano and Veal Parmagia and we couldn't believe it, like being in NY I swear! The owners are super nice and can't wait to try the pizza!? Coming back absolutely and I cant stress enough the quality of this food!?????
